Cross Nicole Kidman and she’ll put you in the freezer!
While being interviewed by her niece Lucia Hawley at the premiere of Practical Magic 2 – in which she reunites with Sandra Bullock as spell-casting sisters Gilly and Sally Owens – the actress spilled that her favourite type of spells are love spells, but she has a different technique for those who’ve wronged her.
“If I’m a little bit upset with someone, I will write their name and put it in the freezer,” Nicole, 59, admitted.
SPELLS TROUBLE
Curses are clearly on the mind, with insiders revealing the actresses have been joking that a hex could be spilling over from the set into real life!
Nicole has told pals her new man Michael Reinstein “is still in shock” at becoming famous overnight after their Italian canoodle and she fears it might be over before it’s really begun.
“She’s worried he’s getting cold feet and she can’t blame him – he’s had people he’s not thought of for 30 years come out of the woodwork saying they’d been contacted by reporters. It’s a level of fame not many can understand until it’s too late,” spills a source.
“Michael’s having second thoughts about his bottom line. It’s bad for business [he hasn’t had good press] and he can see himself being totally consumed by Nicole’s world. He’s not so willing to give what’s needed to be the next Mr Kidman.”
Adding to her woes, Nicole’s ex Tom Cruise is making a Days Of Thunder sequel – the movie he and Nicole fell in love on – with Anne Hathaway as lead, reigniting their feud.
“Anne and Nicole’s rivalry goes WAY back, after Anne won Get Smart and Les Miserables,” confirms the insider. “She’s never cared for the overrated Nicole – nor will she care about any backlash she gets from taking on this role.”
CRUEL ATTACK
As for Sandra, 62, she’s fanning flames of her own, after the family of her partner Bryan Randall, who tragically died of ALS in 2023, told the Daily Mail that they felt frozen out by Sandra and claimed she hasn’t had contact with them or his daughter Skylar – who previously lived with Bryan and Sandra – since his tragic death.
“Sandra is furious. Bryan’s relatives have come out swinging, claiming she shut them out and ran his last months like a lockdown. That’s not the story she lived,” the source tells.
“She walked away from her career to look after him and his wish was her every command, including keeping his illness hidden. She honoured that even when it nearly broke her.”
As for the curse, only time will tell… “Spending a year playing women who aren’t allowed a happy ending, it’s only natural it would get into their heads that the movie could have a hex or curse. Now Sandra’s dealing with Bryan’s unhappy family who think she’s a real-life Sally, while Nicole’s risking it all on the first guy who comes along – just like Gillian.”
