An on-site tug of war erupts on The Block when Tayla tries to “steal” Chantel and Wyatt’s trades, leaving the Gold Coast couple less than impressed.
“We were a bit off Tayla at that point, because she had come after us,” stay-at-home mum Chantel, 32, tells TV WEEK, referencing the body corporate drama from Week One.
“So we just decided we’re not lending our trades to anybody.”

“Taylor also has this thing about her where she’s your best friend when she needs something and then she’ll just turn on you if you don’t give it to her,” adds personal trainer Wyatt, 30.
“She’ll snap. She hung up on us when we wouldn’t lend them.”
“She’s like a naughty little sister who doesn’t listen to her dad and can’t take no for an answer,” explains Chantel.
But, when Main Ensuite Week rolls around, Chantel and Wyatt have more than just their tilers, the famous Cursio brothers, and their in-demand plasterer, Sam, working in their favour. Chantel’s own trade background is another secret weapon: one they quietly kept under wraps.
“People underestimated us,” Chantel says. “But we wanted them to under-estimate us. It just made it more fun!”
With their neighbours, Courtney and Sev, also keeping their professions secret, the competition heats up when the Cursio brothers are called in to help them on site, much to Wyatt’s frustration.

“As soon as someone got in trouble, they thought they would just come and ask us for our trades,” Wyatt says. “We want everyone to finish, but we also want to win. We were a little bit annoyed but it was over our heads.”
Will sharing their secret weapons cost Chantel and Wyatt the win this week?
