Eddy Fry’s romance with Farmer Alex post-Farmer Wants A Wife might have been short-lived, but she’s since found love again — just not with a farmer, this time with a Frenchie.
Eddy has gone Instagram-official with her new boyfriend, a Frenchman named Matthis, who she started dating in January, a few weeks after the FWAW reunion. “We met through friends,” Eddy previously told TV Week. “He’s a really, really lovely guy.”
At the reunion, Eddy admitted that Alex’s ‘intensity’ was incompatible with her more laid-back nature, and she’s seemingly found a better fit with Matthis. “He’s very chill, goes with the flow. He’s really supportive and kind to me,” she said.
“It’s so funny, because after the show, I feel like a lot of the girls met their now-partners and they are just so in love.”
In an Instagram post, Eddy posted some sweet couple snaps with her new beau, captioned: “From colon preps to watching me date another bloke on TV, my guy has well and truly been through it,” she wrote, adding that her dog “Whiskey and I love you.”
In the comments, Eddy wasn’t shy about her new relationship — and her views on her scorned ex, Farmer Alex.
“The bloke you dated on TV was a walking red flag lol. So happy for you,” read one comment that was liked by Eddy. She even replied: “Thank you so much, so sweet of you!!”
There were a handful of telling comments left from FWAW co-stars.
“So glad you’re happy, you deserve nothing less,” wrote Farmer Jarrad’s finalist Carly Foster. Another poked fun at how Eddy and Matthis’ relationship was exposed when they were photographed by New Idea.
“I bet being papped by New Idea wasn’t on your couples bingo card,” wrote Farmer Alex’s finalist, Gabbie Farnham. To this, Eddy replied that she “low-key loved it.”
Eddy details why she split from Farmer Alex
Despite leaving the show together, Eddy has admitted to noticing early red flags with Alex, who told her that he was falling ‘in love’ with her before they exited the series. “I’d had multiple conversations with him off camera leading up to that moment, saying, ‘Can you please slow down? This is too intense for me,’” she told TV Week.
“On that day that he chose me, I remember sitting in the car and I was like, ‘If he says that he loves me, I will freak out.’ To be put in that position where I had to say something arguably hurtful, that I didn’t love him back at that point, was hard for me, and I hated I was in that position, but I couldn’t lie.”
Ultimately, Eddy admits that their relationship was different when the cameras stopped rolling. “Alex was very charming throughout the filming of the show and I think once the show ended, he was back to being his usual self, not his TV self,” she said.
“As we got to know each other, it became pretty apparent that we were not suitable for each other.”
