Bride who dragged baby down the aisle on wedding train says critics entitled to their opinions and God Bless

But her decision to include her one-month-old daughter in the ceremony in an unconventional way, by attaching the child to the train of her dress and dragging her down the aisle, has placed the bride at the centre of an internet frenzy.

After Facebook images of the bizarre wedding party went viral Ms Carter-Brooks and her new husband Johnathan Brooks found themselves the targets of vitriol and ridicule, with comments labelling them “stupid”, “fools” and that they should be reported to child protection services.

“Wow – she still might be getting a visit from protective services – What she did was selfish and possibly harmful,” complained one person on the website Clutch website, a magazine that describes itself as being at the “forefront for today’s young, hip, progressive Black woman”.

Ms Carter-Brooks has taken to Facebook to defend herself, saying “our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train.”

“People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most. We good though we covered by the Blood which never loose its power. So to the media, radio, news, and whomever else wanting to talk about what WE do here you go: Media Media I see how it works regardless the situation or purpose people gone have something negative to say! The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine.”

Ms Carter-Brooks has tried to rise above the fever, telling media that attempted to contact her “Understood everyone entitled to their own opinion so all I have to say is God bless you!”

She also posted on Facebook, “My father said, ‘Folks need to get a life!’ Who asked for their opinion? He said, ‘I ain’t have to ask noun [no-one] for nothing and it was my day!’ He said media, family, or associates if you got a problem we can solve it and that’s not talking on Facebook. So with that being said, signing off now! God is forever in control in our life, so everyone be bless!!”
