Glenn and Sara McGrath have had an amazing year; in May, they announced that they were expecting their first child together, welcoming a beautiful little girl, Madison, in September.
And on the fifth anniversary of the couple’s wedding, life is looking pretty sweet for the McGraths.
The two met in 2009, a year after the death of Glenn’s first wife Jane. They fell instantly in love, and Sara moved to Australia permanently the following year.
They married at the cricket star’s home in November 2010 before celebrating their relationship at a second wedding ceremony in Sicily in 2011.
The couple are just as happy as ever, and completely loved up with little Madison and her big brother James and big sister Holly.
Glenn and Sara met in South Africa in 2009, before stepping out at the Logie Awards the following year.
Sara spoke to The Australian Women’s Weekly about her new blended family: “All of us have come a long way, taken giant steps and grown together as a family. Some days have been hard, that’s true, but mostly it’s been wonderful.”
The couple married at Glenn’s Cronulla home in November 2010.
They then celebrated with a second wedding in Sicily in July 2011. “Glenn and I remarried in a religious ceremony for close family and friends,” she said at the time. “We are very happy.”
In 2011, Sara started a blog about bonding with her step-children, James and Holly. “I have the best step-kids I could have ever wished for and I pass on to them my traditions and recipes,” Sara said.
Sara reportedly selected a gown by Australian Johanna Johnson for her Italian nuptials; the couple took in the designer’s catwalk show in 2012.
The supportive family turned out to celebrate Glenn’s induction to the ICC Hall of Fame in 2013.
Last year Sara told The Australian Women’s Weekly that she is “solely focused on being the best stepmum she can be to James and Holly, a job which has, at times, been extremely challenging.”
The couple announced their delight at Sara’s pregnancy earlier this year.
Before “perfect, beautiful” little girl Madison joined older brother and sister James and Holly in September 2015.
