Married couple Lisa and Rosco are finally reunited with their son, Lando, this week on The Block but being separated from him has taken a toll on Rosco’s health.

“He stopped sleeping,” paramedic Lisa, 34, tells TV WEEK. “At night his mind was racing with The Block build and the invoices for our own build that was going on back home in Perth – and the guilt of leaving Lando.

“The sheer cognitive load was high. He struggled to switch off and that had a compounding effect for him.”

The pressure becomes so intense for fly-in/fly-out worker Rosco, 38, that he takes a day off site, while Lisa suffers her own confrontation with neighbour Tayla during a Freedom challenge.

“I was shocked at that encounter,” Lisa reveals. “It was the second time in the season that I was stunned for words. The way she looked at me… there was this fire in her eyes that I had never seen before.”

With the pressure mounting on so many fronts, will Lisa and Rosco keep it together and drag their massive Living, Dining and Alfresco space over the line this week?

The Block airs Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 7pm on Nine Network and 9Now.
