Just weeks after leaving Farmer Wants A Wife, heartbroken when Farmer Zac sent her packing due to her feud with his now official girlfriend Maya Jade, Miranda Chopping has got her ultimate revenge – by announcing her engagement to her partner Joshua Brown in Paris!
Talking exclusively to Woman’s Day from Lake Como, Italy, just days after her fiancé Joshua got down on one knee in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris, Miranda, 21, says she “had absolutely no idea” that he was going to propose.
“I genuinely thought we were going to an escape room,” she giggles. “There was actually a dress I really wanted to wear that day, and Josh made up a whole story about why I couldn’t wear it.
“He told me we were going to an escape room at the Eiffel Tower and then getting professional photos afterwards, so I didn’t suspect a thing. They put masks on us and took us up in a dodgy little elevator, and I was going on about how I didn’t want us to get split up in the escape room. Then, while I still had my blindfold on, our song started playing. That was the moment my stomach just dropped and I thought, ‘Oh my God.’”
Miranda says once she took the blindfold off, the set-up in front of her was “literally like a dream. Josh was standing there, the Eiffel Tower was right in front of us, and I just couldn’t stop smiling at him. I’d never seen anything like it. It honestly felt like something out of a movie.”
Josh, who works as a car dealer and content creator, says he was shocked that Miranda didn’t catch on. “I had her fooled all day,” he says. “The biggest thing for me was I didn’t want to propose somewhere really public. So I organised a private rooftop overlooking the Eiffel Tower. “When we finally got up there and everything came together, it was insane. It was pretty much a dream come true.”
THE CITY OF LOVE
On why he chose the French capital as the location, he said once they had Paris locked into their already planned trip to Europe, “It just made sense. It is the City of Love after all,” he says.
To make things even more dreamy, Miranda says the gorgeous oval-cut diamond ring Josh presented her with was “exactly what I wanted!”
“I knew the style because she’d always wanted the Hailey Bieber ring,” says Josh. “I went to five different places, and the last place had the perfect one.”
“I absolutely love it. I’m never taking it off,” adds Miranda.
The couple, who met around May last year but only went public this June after Farmer finished airing, say they haven’t given a second thought to whether they’re moving too fast. “It’s pretty quick, but since the day we met, we literally haven’t spent a night apart. I think when you know what you want, you know. We both wanted this, so I felt like there was no reason to wait,” says Miranda.
“We both want to move into the next stage of our lives together, so it seemed like the perfect time,” adds Josh.
FUTURE DREAMS
Miranda says they’re already planning to scout out some wedding venues while they’re in Lake Como – her dream location – however, they think it’ll end up being back in Australia.
One thing that’s for certain, though, is no one from Farmer will get an invite!
“I personally closed that chapter a long time ago, so I don’t really see why anyone from Farmer would have any relevance to my wedding,” she notes.
And when asked whether she thinks Farmer Zac will reach out to congratulate her, the beauty says, “I think Zac is a little busy with all his electrical work he’s got going on! He probably can’t find the time. So, no, I don’t think so.”
