They seemed like the perfect pairing on Farmer Wants A Wife, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be for Farmer Dylan and Ally Horsburgh, who revealed they went their separate ways after the reunion episode.
Now Ally has spoken exclusively to Woman’s Day, elaborating on the breakup, after she uploaded a TikTok showing her getting her belongings back from Dylan – belongings that were very diligently wrapped in an excess of packing tape, which left Ally laughing and aptly captioning her video, ‘The audacity of men!’
“Honestly, by the time my belongings arrived, the whole thing was so ridiculous that I couldn’t help but laugh,” Ally told Woman’s Day. “My name was spelt wrong, there was an unbelievable amount of packing tape around everything. The TikTok wasn’t done out of anger. I just thought the situation was so bizarre that people would find it funny, it’s one of those situations where you either laugh or cry..”
She went on to say she didn’t have any ill will towards Dylan and his antics.
“I don’t really waste energy trying to figure out what men are thinking. You can only meet people where they’re at. How they choose to behave is up to them, and how I choose to respond is up to me,” she further elaborated.

Ally’s latest TikTok came after she revealed that Dylan had broken up with her “on a random Wednesday” while she was at work… on Snapchat.
“I remember the phone call when you told me,” Dylan’s runner-up Scarlett commented, with Ally replying, “[I] called you STRAIGHT AWAY!”
Farmer Wants A Wife’s Ally on what happened with Dylan behind the scenes

While many Farmer fans were left saddened by the news that the young lovebirds couldn’t make their relationship work, Ally is not dwelling on what happened in the past.
“I think what people don’t realise is that there was a lot that happened behind the scenes that wasn’t public. During our friendship, Dylan reached out wanting to reconnect romantically, and for a little while we explored that. So, finding out from he is in a new relationship very shortly afterwards was difficult,” she said.
“I don’t feel the need to give a play-by-play of what happened or argue timelines. I feel the situation speaks for itself, and people can draw their own conclusions. It has been hard as I am still processing everything privately and it’s all playing out very publicly.”
Ally went on to say she’s learned to relinquish control of the narrative and is focusing on her own happiness.
“I don’t believe in villainising people. Relationships are complicated, and everyone is doing the best they can with where they’re at emotionally,” she elaborated.
“I’ve learned that you can’t control what someone else does. You can only meet people where they’re at and accept the situation for what it is. I am focusing on my own happiness and healing moving forward.”
While the pair had remained friends after their breakup, she said they are no longer as close, but that there would always be a special bond between them.
“Dylan and I aren’t as close as we once were, and I think that’s the healthiest thing for everyone involved. Out of respect for myself, and out of respect for his new relationship,” she shared. “There will always be a level of care there for Dylan because we shared a very unique experience together.
I really believe you can appreciate what someone meant to your life without needing them to be part of your everyday life.”
‘I don’t want my story to be reduced to whether a man could commit’

With Farmer Wants A Wife firmly in the past, Ally said she’s proud of the way she’s been able to navigate the drama on-and-off screen.
“At the end of the day, I don’t want my story to be reduced to whether a man could or couldn’t commit to me. There’s so much more to my life, and so much more to who I am as a person,” she said.
“I’m really proud that I’ve managed to move through all of this with kindness. It’s easy to become bitter when you’re hurt, but I don’t think that’s where my power is. I think there is power in remaining kind, staying true to one ‘self, and knowing that someone else’s choices don’t define your value.”
Ally went on to praise the women she met on the show who have rallied around her.
“One of the greatest gifts to come from this experience has been the women I met. They’ve always made me feel supported, loved and celebrated. When you’re surrounded by women who see your value, you stop looking for validation in places where it has to be earned,” Ally said.
“I have walked away with an incredible group of girls who have always reminded me of my worth, and that is the story I want people to remember.”
