Nicole Kidman and Simon Baker’s rumoured romance is moving front and centre, and fans couldn’t help but notice in a playful new video.
The clip, filmed on the set of Scarpetta season two, shows the pair smiling and laughing with one another as production kicks off.
In the video, Nicole and Simon stood close together as their co-stars, Jamie Lee Curtis and Bobby Cannavale, announced that filming for the second season had begun. At one point, Nicole rested her hand on Simon’s shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around her waist, sparking plenty of excitement from fans.
“Hi everybody! We are the cast of Scarpetta, and guess what? Season…dos!” Jamie said. Nicole then celebrated with an excited dance and a joyful scream, while Simon looked on, clearly amused. The duo shared a glance that seemed to say more than words could, with Simon laughing at her antics.
Jamie added, “We’re in the middle of it. We’re having such a good time, thanks so much for your loving support.” Nicole chimed in, “We’re so grateful.”
Fans quickly flooded the comments with reactions to Nicole and Simon’s cosy display. “Give me Nicole and Simon all day!!!” one fan wrote, while another called them “a cute couple.”
The pair share a deep, long-standing friendship, with Nicole acting as godmother to Simon’s son Harry with his ex-wife, Rebecca Rigg.
Nicole told The Daily Telegraph that getting Simon involved in Scarpetta felt like fate: “We have known each other for a huge portion of our lives. I’ve always wanted to do something substantial with Simon. And so, it was me going, ‘Would you please, please, do this with me?’ And he was at a time in his life when he could… and he said yes to me.”
An insider previously told Woman’s Day that Nicole’s ex-husband, Keith Urban, is feeling conflicted about the new closeness between the pair.
“Keith is hoping they’re just hamming it up for headlines, but even then it feels to him like it’s a betrayal because both Nicole and Simon know how much even the hint of a romance between them will hurt him,” the source shared. “He already suspected they were getting close while filming. This is his worst nightmare come true.”
Nicole’s budding romance with Simon comes in the wake of her finalised divorce from Keith in January 2026. Despite the drama, it seems the actors are enjoying each other’s company, with their chemistry impossible to ignore.
