Appearing on The Late, Late Show with its brand new host James Corden, soccer legend David proceeded to embarrass Brooklyn, when James inquired whether the 16 year-old had started dating again.

“Yup, that’s happening!” David replied, adding, “He’s going to hate me for this.”

Brooklyn has been widely admired for his good looks, inherited from his Dad, and at 16 has already appeared in multiple international fashion spreads.

It’s therefore little wonder that he’s already begun dating, having been spotted out and about multiple times with fellow teenaged stunner, Hollywood actress Chloe Grace Moretz.

While David didn’t divulge quite so much as to name names, he did reveal details of Brooklyn’s adorable Valentine’s date.

“I’m fine with it because on his first date when he was about 14 and a half, Victoria was actually in London and it was Valentine’s Day and he said ‘I’d love to take this girl for dinner’, and I said ‘OK great’”

Meanwhile, the camera cut to a mortified Brooklyn who was shown looking rather red-faced as his dad regaled the audience with his dating tales!

David continued: “I spoke to Victoria and she was like ‘Really?’ She said, ‘Okay, make sure you take him and then make sure you sit in the restaurant.’ I sat about five tables away.”

While David insisted that he was fine with his son beginning dating, he said he wouldn’t feel quite the same if it was little Harper all grown up and asking to date!

David, 39, said: “By the way, my daughter is four years old and when she gets to that age, I will be closer than that.”

David must be getting quite experienced at playing chaperone on his son’s dates as he was also spotted accompanying his son and Chloe to an Ed Sheeran concert in London last year.

David also made a special comedic appearance while on the Late, Late show with his pal and the show’s host James Corden, stripping down to his boxers for a hilarious underwear ad parody.

David also revealed that despite the privileged life Brooklyn might lead, having super-wealthy parents, they still make him work if he wants things, so that he appreciates the value of a dollar.

“You know what kids are like, they want new sneakers, they want new soccer boots and it came to the point where he turned 14, 14-and-a-half and I thought, ‘Well, if you want something then you’ve got to work and you’ve got your own money’”

Embarrassing or not, one thing is clear: father and son are clearly very close. When Brooklyn turned 16 earlier this month, his dad shared an adorable father-son moment of the two of them via Facebook.
