Just as recent mysterious behaviour had Tinseltown convinced that its once-golden couple, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, were preparing to announce their marriage separation, the pair has made another shock move.
For the first time in more than a month, Jen and Ben put on a display of togetherness today, taking their daughters Violet, 9, and Seraphina, 6, to Santa Monica for ice cream and appearing for all the world like a happy family.
This comes just days after several well-connected sources claimed that after living separate lives for months, Ben and Jen were preparing to announce their separation just before their 10th wedding anniversary on June 29.
Jen and Ben were both spotted out and about looking stressed.
“He hopes it will give it enough time to die down by the time he has to promote Batman vs Superman and other movies he has coming out next year,” says a source. “They are through.”
But our latest pics show that the two have anything but split, with their wedding rings on full display as Ben piggybacked his younger daughter as Violet clutched Mum’s hand during their day out in the California sunshine.
However, those close to the pair remain sceptical, saying it could be one last hurrah for Jen and Ben before they truly go their separate ways, in sad news for their daughters and son Samuel, 3, who wasn’t present for their ice-cream run.
On Jen’s birthday on April 17, she was seen alone in Canada. And on Mother’s Day with his mother and brother, while Jen and her children spent it at home in Los Angeles. According to Radar Online, she flew her parents from West Virginia at the time, and told them in person that her marriage was over.
Several sources tell Woman’s Day that Bennifer II (he first earned that nickname when he famously dated Jennifer Lopez from 2002 to 2004) is over, however the couple themselves appear to determined to prove otherwise. Watch this space…
