Unmasking all the celebrities on The Masked Singer Australia 2023

With stellar musical performances and elaborate costumes hiding celebrities, it can be hard to flick past The Masked Singer Australia and the 2023 season has started with a bang.

Sadly, not every celebrity can be a winner despite some incredible performances. As each character is eliminated from the singing contest, they must remove the mask to reveal their identity.

Mel B, Abbie Chatfield, Dave Hughes and Chrissie Swan return to the judging panel in 2023.

From local stars to international legends, so far fans have seen Cody Simpson, Bonnie Anderson, Melody Thornton and Jack Vidgen hiding underneath the masks.

So which celebrity can we expect to be concealed underneath the masks? While the judges and fans make their predictions, only time will tell.

Bouncer – Conrad Swell

Courtney Act is known mostly for her superstar drag performance on Ru Paul’s Drag Race but she first rose to fame on Australian Idol.

Courtney shared that she went on the show to express her annoyance with society’s perception of drag queens.

“The funny thing is, I feel like I could read to children dressed as Cowgirl, but there might be some people who would argue that I shouldn’t read to children dressed like this,” she said referring to her drag persona.

The Captain – Brendan Fevola

The Captain – Brendan Fevola

Although The Captain was on The Masked Singer for a short time, one episode to be exact, Brendan shocked the crowd. Only Hughesy correctly guessed the former football player.

“I’m guessed every year. My Instagram and Twitter goes nuts, saying this is 100 per cent you, so I thought I’d finally come in as a wildcard, a firecracker, and bring the party,” Brendan said following his reveal.

The celebrity under the mask, Orca was pop singer Amy Sheppard who performs in the Brisbane group Sheppard.

All of the judges were utterly shocked, especially Mel B who felt she should have guessed the celebrity after hearing the bands song Geronimo “everywhere” back in 2014.

Burger Gal – La Toya Jackson

Judges guessed Fran Drescher, Julia Stiles and Snooki but no one can fool Mel B after she guessed with full confidence that it was none other than the fifth sibling of the Jackson family.

La Toya sang her best performance of Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’. She revealed how much she loves the show and that it was actually her third time competing.

Tiny – Pete Murray

The Aussie singer-songwriter has sold over 1.2 million albums in Australia and last night he wowed the audience with his soulful performance of ‘Wrapped Around Your Finger’ by Post Malone.

Chrissie Swan was the only one to guess his identity with other judges guessing Post Malone himself and even Billy Ocean.

He explained that his kids would love to see him on TV and that he loved the show.

“As soon as I saw him I fell in love with him,” said Murray about the Tiny costume. “I love cuddles and just being friendly to people.”

Space Fairy – Charlotte Crosby

Your favourite Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has been unmasked as the Space Fairy!

She’s most known in Australia for her appearance on I’m A Celeb in 2020.

“You’re telling me you think I was that good? I’ve never sung in front of anyone in my life!” Charlotte gasped after the judges had guessed Marcia Hines, Jesy Nelson, Joss Stone and Mary J Blige.

She revealed she was battling nerves and even revealed the experience was ‘horrendous’ but was grateful she didn’t sound bad and even got to perform in front of a Spice Girl.

Bluebottle – Shaynna Blaze

Unfortunately, Shaynna was unmasked after singing Call Me by Blondie before busting out A Little Less Conversation by Elvis Presley.

Shaynna revealed that her coming on the show shouldn’t be a surprise explaining that singing has always been apart of her life and in her 20s and 30s she used to sing.

Bad Avocado – Summer Warne

Late cricketer Shane Warne’s daughter Summer has been unmasked as the Bad Avocado.

The judges were absolutely shocked to see her, they guessed from Michelle Payne to even Pettifleur Berenger.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Summer announced the reasoning behind her song choice.

“I want to make Dad proud. Singing Yellow was absolutely amazing – that song was his funeral song. Chris Martin sang it at the state memorial.”

Fawn – Sandra Sully

The second celebrity to be unmasked was Sandra Sully! The judging panel and fans were completely surprised to discover the news presenter was the impeccable singer.

Better yet, she was practicing right under Dave Hughes’ nose after rehearsing in his neighbours apartment.

“[I was] hoping like heck that I wasn’t going to run into you, or that you would hear me,” she joked.

Crash Test Dummy – Brian Austin Green

Crash Test Dummy was the first masked celebrity to be eliminated from the competition, and it was none other than 90210 heartthrob Brian Austin Green.

Following his unmasking, Brian joked: “You guys aren’t cut out for this job!”
