Duchess Catherine subtly transformed her entire wardrobe in 2019 – see it unfold in pictures

If there is one revelation to come from 2019 that’s provided us with a complete and utter sense of joy, it would be the epic transformation we’ve seen occur to Duchess Catherine’s heavenly wardrobe.

Indeed the stunning royal never fails to draw our gaze each and every time she steps out in public, and this year has proved to be no different.

In fact, 2019 has arguably been her most glorious yet as the 38-year-old has raised the bar several hundred metres higher when it comes to the fashion stakes.

The pictures certainly speak for themselves.

This year, we’ve seen Kate’s trendy-yet modest approach to dressing be turned on its head as the royal started donning items that, by comparison, were anything but traditional.

There were quirky customised recycled looks, a plethora of heavenly wide-legged pants, and how could we forget that purple Gucci blouse, which the Duchess famously wore back to front?

To celebrate our queen of chic, we decided to put all of her best looks of the year in one place – and mind there’s still a couple of months to go until we see the end of 2019, so expect more where this came from!

BAFTA 2019

Kate did not do things by halves this year, and it all began at the annaul BAFTAs with this glorious white one-shoulder gown, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen – a sign of many good things to come…

100 Women in Finance

The Duchess certainly started the year with a fizz and a bang, wearing this divine pink Gucci gown for the annual 100 Women in Finance event held at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

In what became one of her most iconic fashion moments all year, Kate wore this purple Gucci shirt which was later revealed to have been worn back to front – but you’d have never known it, the pussybow detailing looked utterly perfect on the royal!

Portrait gala

Later that same day in March, Kate stepped out again in a beautiful Alexander McQueen gown, one which looked very similar to a gown she previously wore to the BAFTA awards a few years back. This time, small tweaks such as capped sleeves and a slightly varying pattern convinced many that Kate in fact, owned two variations of the heavenly McQueen dress.

In March, Kate looked chic as she stepped out alongside the Queen herself in this grey Catherine Walker coat paired with a black hat by Sylvia Fletcher.

Pears Family School

Kate’s moss green midi dress designed by Kiwi-born designer Emilia Wickstead was absolutely divine on the royal as she visited Pears Family School in London.

Kate oozed cool girl chic as she stepped out to help reveal her Chelsea Flower Show garden in this chic white embroided shirt, brown culottes and those Superga sneakers. Nailed it!

Kate stunned us once again in June when she stepped out for a gala dinner wearing this beautiful white off-shoulder dress and some very daring sparkly heels. We love her highlighted makeup look too – glowing!

In what might be our favourite royal fashion moment all year, Kate Middleton finally wore an Elie Saab design for the very first time. The light blue frock, which featured a pussy bow and beautiful sheer detailing was worth every single part of the wait. Obsessed.

Natural history museum

As Autumn arrived, so did an array of autumnal hues in Kate’s enviable wardrobe. For her visit to London’s Natural History Museum the royal opted for a Warehouse fine knit jumper, which featured a high neckline and subtle embroidery detailing. She paired the style with some chic wide-legged khaki pants by Jigsaw.

In November, the Duchess attended the Festival of Remembrance in a gorgeous fitted navy dress by UFO. But it was what the royal chose to wear on her head that really got us ogling – she opted for a sparkly headband from the very affordable high street brand, Zara!

Later that month, the Duchess glowed in an Alexander McQueen gown, which featured sheer lace detailing as she attended the annual Royal Variety Performance. Obsessed!

Queen’s diplomatic reception

In December, Kate rounded out the year with a fizz and a bang, wearing a heavenly Alexander McQueen velvet gown, which had some striking similarities to one of Princess Diana’s most iconic dresses. And the pièce de résistance? Only the casual accessory of the Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara. Perfection!
