If there was ever a combination more fitting than Kate Middleton and pristine fashion, it would be Kate Middleton and pristine photography.

Indeed in an announcement that couldn’t be more timely for Kate, the Palace has revealed the Duchess has officially become Patron of The Royal Photographic Society.

A keen shutterbug, Kate’s new role comes following a slew of stunning images of her two youngest children Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte, which were released on their birthdays earlier this year.

And now, the Duchess has proved once again that her knack for photography with kids is next to none after partaking in a very special engagement.

Visiting a photography workshop run by The Royal Photographic Society and Action for Children, Kate was all smiles as she joined the young kids in several sessions to help them learn about the various elements to photography, including light, colour and taking portraits.

Wearing a stunning paisley print dress designed by Ridley London, the Duchess was a vision of summer perfection in floaty sleeves and a beautiful flowing hemline as she stepped out at the workshop.

She paired the dress with a pair of nude Castaner Carina espadrille wedge heels, wearing her hair in loose waves.

Seriously, can we all buy this gorgeous dress for summer?

The special event also highlighted an important message for the royal – that photography will provide a universal language for young people to express themselves.

Speaking of the Duchess’ involvement with the society, Chief Operating Officer Mike Taylor said: “It is a huge honour to have The Duchess as our Patron, especially given her personal interest in photography.”

He continued: “We know that photography and creative pursuits have such a positive impact for people of all ages, and we are excited to be working with one of The Duchess’s charities in support of their work.”

And already, Kate has made a big impression on those involved with the society, sharing a number of gorgeous moments with the kids attending the class.

The mum-of-three even shared a sweet anecdote about her two eldest children George and Charlotte, revealing that they have a very fitting new hobby – photography!

According to Hello!, Kate told a couple of budding photographers in attendance to: “Just look at everything around you. Maybe it’s in front of you, or far away but choose your subject and focus on it.”

She continued: “Get outside with your camera as well. George and Charlotte love it when we do that.”

Too cute! Kate’s found herself a keen young snapper!

The special announcement comes after years of seeing Kate’s stunning photography of her three charming children.

When Princess Charlotte was born, Kate shared a series of stunning photos of Prince George and his new baby sister sitting happily together.

Then, in April this year the Duchess released another series of gorgeous pictures of Prince Louis for his first birthday.

Suffice to say we were charmed by his radiant little face!

Louis showed off an adorably toothy smile in the beautiful shots.

Barely a week later, another series of photos featuring Princess Charlotte for her fourth birthday were released.

Like Louis’, the pictures were taken in the Cambridges’ private country residence Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

One of the crystal-clear shots captured a beautiful moment of the young royal playing in the garden.

Both Charlotte’s charm and Kate’s incredible photography work was clearly at play here!

The stunning photos featured the young royal like we’d never seen her.

With that being said, we can’t think of a more suitable patronage for Duchess Catherine.

And we can only hope it means many more beautiful images to come from the talented royal!
