As speculation about Bec Hewitt’s return to Summer Bay continues to grow, Woman’s Day can reveal if she does, it won’t ?be the happy family it once was.
A close family friend tells us Bec’s once rock-solid friendship with her former Home And Away co-star Kate Ritchie has fallen apart – and can’t be resurrected.
“They thought they’d be friends forever, but sadly their connection has gone cold in the last couple of years as they’ve become caught up in the complications of their own lives,” a close family friend told
Rumours the former BFF’s have lost complete contact with one another were further fuelled last week when Bec admitted she still hasn’t met Kate’s 3-month-old daughter Mae, while attending the Melbourne Cup with husband Lleyton.

“We have literally just flown ?in, and I’ve come down here ?to Melbourne,” Bec told us dismissively at the Melbourne Cup. “So I haven’t seen her [Kate Ritchie].”
While Kate’s career and personal life continues to soar, Bec, 31, gave up on her TV dreams to support her husband’s tennis ambitions. ?
To add more fuel to the fire, Kate, 36, isn’t a fan of Lleyton. “He has never made any effort when in their company, except for the wedding,” spills a friend.
“It’s nothing personal against them, but Lleyton is just not interested in people who are not sporting or tennis-related, even if they’re Bec’s longtime friends.”
Last time Kate and Bec were seen hanging out together was back in April 2012 when they were spotted enjoying lunch at Sydney’s Bronte Beach.
