If you’re up to date with Home and Away and it’s never-ending tragedies, you’ll know fan favourite character Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) is in a fair bit of strife.
The rockstar is looking worse for wear in recent promos of the show, as she continues to battle aplastic anemia, a rare and serious blood disorder.
With a stem cell donor looking unlikey, Eden’s starting to fight a losing battle and is gearing up to celebrate her last weeks of life with her husband Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) by her side.
Home and Away fans aren’t strangers to tragic deaths: From more recent losses like Felicity Newman’s brain aneurysm and Theo Poulos’ tragic hit and run, to the old wounds like Casey Braxton’s untimely end and Belle Taylor’s heartbreaking cancer journey, Summer Bay sure gets hit hard.
But is there still actually hope for Eden?
Will Eden die on Home and Away? Here’s the fan theories
A lot of people are speculating that it’ll be Richie (Rocco Forrester-Sach) who comes in to save the day and be a perfect donor match for Eden.
The disgraced police recruit, who rubbed colleague Cash the wrong way, dated Eden’s sister Abbie, and also managed to accidentally shoot his boss, David, left town after the aforementioned series of events. But with his return, he’s determined to reconcile with Abbie and win over the Summer Bay community.
Fans are theorising that Richie’s redemption arc will begin with saving Eden’s life.
“Richie will be the donor, then when he becomes a lifeguard he can save Jo or Lacey from drowning and David will be forever grateful. Richie will have his redemption” one fan speculated.
“Richie will be the donor he will get hurt training needs a blood test at hospital and will be a suitable donor for Eden,” another weighed in, with someone else agreeing, “Richie will be the donor, I’ve said that all along from the moment we knew Richie would be returning.”
Others weren’t as hopeful for Eden’s outcome – Home and Away fans have been burnt before, after all.
“Maybe it’s a way for both characters to leave!” someone wrote on social media “Eden dies, Cash goes into mourning, and goes home to be with Gary! [Cash’s foster father]”.
Major clue about Eden’s fate spotted in Home and Away fan group
Now is the part you stop reading if you hate spoilers – don’t say we didn’t warn you!
A Facebook fan group dedicated to the show has some fairly concrete proof that Eden DOES end up surviving – and hopefully thriving!
With the show filmed months in advance, an eagle-eyed onlooker recently spotted Eden and Cash shooting scenes in Sydney – and unless she’s in ghost form (do ghosts like coffee?) and Cash is essentially talking to himself (don’t rule it out!) it’s left people hopeful that all will end well.
“Finally, some positivity in the show,” one fan commented on the images, with another adding, “Happy to hear that – and Cash back in uniform so back at work. Positive news for a change, I know it’s a drama show but sometimes it’s nice to have happy news.”
Home and Away airs Monday to Thursday, 7pm on Channel Seven
