Life is busy, and when you finally get some much-needed couch time, the last thing you want to do is flick between streaming services in an endless search of content to satisfy every member of the family. Thankfully, Foxtel has made that step a lot easier, with the Prime Video app now available on Foxtel, you can get all your household’s needs in one place.

Best friends, mums and self-confessed streaming buffs Lise and Sarah, aka Those Two Girls, know a thing or two about streaming sessions. “Like everybody else in this modern era, we watch TV and movies ALL THE TIME!” they tell Now To Love.

Here, Lise and Sarah share their tips for the ultimate night in, with curious picks to please every personality, mood and occasion. Pull up a seat and prepare for the ultimate family night in!

What to watch

…when it’s family movie night

Have some good snacks on hand to encourage positive viewing attitudes. Go for something funny, silly and slapstick-y, or even a full-blown action-adventure involving jungles, car chases, and The Rock. Smart ‘kids’ films are usually riddled with hidden jokes for parents, too. The only rule? No horror. We’re done with having kids in our beds.

Despicable Me 3: Both our families could watch Despicable Me 3 on a loop forever and ever, Amen. It never disappoints.

Cinderella: Cinderella on Prime Video is also something we can all bond over. We thought it was for the children, but we were wrong! It was as much for us as it was for them. Camilla Cabello, the fairy godmother. We love a good makeover story!

…if you’ve had a stressful work week & need some feel-good viewing.

Watch ’em concurrently for the full feel-good monty!

The Great Australian Bake-off: Classic Mel Buttle and Claire Hooper banter, plus a whole bunch of carbs. Sign us up!

Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls!: Turn that frown upside down in a jiffy as Lizzo searches for women to join the ‘Big Grrrls’ – her famous backup dancer troupe. The talent! The body positivity! The all ’round good vibes of this show!

…sports are on the agenda.

Nothing says family bonding like an adrenaline-pumping showdown!

Footy on Foxtel: Wrangling the family to freeze in a stadium outdoors? No thanks! Tune into Foxtel for the latest AFL and NRL matches. With some available in 4K Ultra HD, you’ll feel like you’re right there on the pitch… minus snotty noses and rain ponchos.

Only Live Once: My family can devour anything X Games-related. The four of us are mad for the adrenaline of BMX bikes, half pipes and broken bones. It’s really quite thrilling.

…if you need a crash course in award-winning entertainment.

To lead the conversation at the office water cooler, you’ll need these two gems in your streaming arsenal.

Euphoria: After watching Gen Z in action, can someone put our children back inside our uteruses? We are terrified but cannot look away.

Fleabag: We can’t believe people are STILL sleeping on this brilliant show. If you’ve ever felt like a hot mess at some point in your life, Phoebe Waller-Bridge will prove you wrong, and then some. Dry-witted, unfiltered and deliciously naughty, you’re going to be hooked.

…for pure escapism.

Ready to leave your surroundings behind and dip into another reality?

Find Your Dream Home: Real estate transformations are our preferred form of meditation. This Foxtel original takes us inside some of the most unique homes across Australia, with jaw-dropping results.

The Wheel Of Time: This ultra high-budget fantasy series will take you on the most epic adventure! Based on the cult book series of the same name, it does not disappoint.

…when kid wrangling.

Don’t laugh, these may be ‘kids play’, but you’ll enjoy both, we bet!

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania: We give this an A+ if passive parenting is on the agenda this weekend. The fourth and final instalment of the series about monsters in a hotel…which is precisely how we feel about holidaying with our kids.

Suncorp Super Netball: My girls and I are obsessed with netball, so the Suncorp Super Netball is right up our alley. You’ll often hear me yelling out ‘Here if you need!’ as I slink away for a few moments to myself.

…when you need a new obsession.

OK these picks are completely opposite in style, but both are just as enthralling. Grab yourself some popcorn, or a toasted cheese sanga, and settle in…

The Twelve: A gripping Aussie courtroom drama starring everyone’s dad crush, Sam Neill? Say no more! This TV blockbuster premieres June 21 on Foxtel and we’ve got our set top boxes locked and loaded.

Conversations with Friends: Based on Sally Rooney’s best-selling book, this addictive new series explores the dynamics of a group of friends who are having secret affairs with each other. The sexual tension is palpable! Definitely something to watch once the kids have gone to bed.

…to live vicariously through the rich and famous.

These two totally OTT reality shows have more in common than one might think. Say hello to the most extravagant properties Down Under and the Beverly Hills people who live those luxe lives.

Luxe Listings Sydney: How are people so rich? Where have we gone wrong? D’Leanne’s wardrobe alone is worth the watch. For for the juiciest fly-on-the-wall viewing experience, dive into Season 2 now streaming on Prime. Expect lots of very white teeth, designer sneakers, and to-die-for harbour views!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Drama, designer outfits, dream homes and celeb cameos? Yes please! If you’ve never watched RHOBH what are you even doing with your life? It’s basically Paris Hilton’s extended family and all their showbiz, rich lady friends living their best and worst Hollywood lives. Addictive!

…to switch up a typical blockbuster.

These two curious couplings flip the script on the whole “superheroes vs villains” theme!

Suicide Squad: A team of unhinged but lovable antiheroes teaming up to save the world? What could possibly go wrong? Margot Robbie playing Harley Quinn is pure genius. Add Idris Elba, Taika Waititi and Pete Davidson to that mix and consider us hooked!

The Boys: People love that cosy feeling that superheroes give them, but if you knew half of the things they are up to…diabolical. We’re hanging for Season 3.

They may seem like curious bedfellows, but Foxtel and Prime Video are the dynamic duo we all need. Now that the Prime Video app is on Foxtel, you can watch more of what you love all in one place.
