Simmone Jade Mackinnon turned to social media on Monday in a desperate bid to find her sister, who hadn’t been seen in days.
The McLeod’s Daughters actress, who played fan-favourite Stevie Hall on the beloved Australian drama, shared a photo and heartfelt message to Instagram, revealing her sister Kym Mackinnon had gone missing in Queensland.
Tragically, Queensland Police confirmed Kym’s death about midday on Tuesday.
“Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the non-suspicious death of a woman at Tamborine Mountain,” a police spokesperson said. “There is no further information at this time.”
According to Simmone’s post, Kym was last seen on Guanaba Road, Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
“Have you seen my sister?” Simmone wrote alongside the post, sharing a description to help with the search. Kym is 51, 165 centimetres tall, with a very slim build, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.
The actress urged her followers to spread the word as far as possible.
“Please share this post ESPECIALLY if you are in Queensland,” she wrote.
Anyone with information on Kym’s whereabouts was asked to contact Queensland Police’s Policelink on 131 444, quoting case file QP2601680614.
Simmone is best known to audiences for her roles in McLeod’s Daughters and Baywatch Hawaii, and has been nominated for several TV WEEK Logie Awards, including the Gold Logie.

Hundreds of people flooded the comments section of the post with messages of love and support, including both friends and fans.
