Journalist and author Jess Rowe has stepped out at Australian Fashion Week (AFW) alongside her eldest daughter Allegra who booked a modelling catwalk gig.
The proud mum was all smiles as she accompanied Allegra to the event.
Allegra has modelled previously, having signed with modelling agency Priscilla’s Models in 2023.
The 17-year-old walked the catwalk for Australian brand Rory William Docherty and her mother was beaming with pride when the pair arrived at Fashion Week.
“Bravo our brave & determined Allegra… such a joy to see you making your dreams come true @ausfashionweek ! And yes I bawled happy tears afterwards,” Jess shared on Instagram after the catwalk.

Allegra made her catwalk debut last year and Jess gushed over her daughter at the time, expressing how proud she was.
The 53-year-old shared some photos of her eldest child on social media, showing Allegra walking on the runway for luxury activewear brand AJE Athletica.
The proud mum described the huge achievement as “overwhelming” and when she uploaded the snaps of Allegra walking in the show, her face was visibly overcome with emotion.
“Here I am teary as I watch my darling brave firstborn Allegra do her first catwalk show,” Jess wrote on Instagram.
She described her daughter as a “powerhouse of wonder” and thanked the brand for working with her.
Jess and husband Peter Overton are extremely proud and devoted parents, and have been very open about their struggles with infertility.
Allegra – whose name is Italian for “glad” – was conceived through IVF and was the perfect gift for her parents who had been hoping for her arrival for many years.
A few years after welcoming Allegra into the family, their second child Giselle was born in 2009. Jess went into labour while Peter was in the middle of filming 60 Minutes!
Though the road to parenthood wasn’t a simple one for the couple, Jess and Peter have been devoted to their daughters ever since and support them in anything they do.
