Lisa Wilkinson took to Instagram to share a powerful message supporting women and allies who are fighting for the government to start taking sexual and gender safety seriously in the wake of the March 4 Justice movement.

The Sunrise host has been vocal about supporting the cause, and she surprised the massive March 4 Justice crowd when she invited Brittany Higgins onto the stage to make her moving and powerful speech.

In the Instagram post, Lisa shared an impactful message to everyone who may be feeling discouraged and burnt out after five weeks of horrible news and toxic political discourse.

She wrote, “Sending love and healing hugs to everyone doing it tough right now. What’s going on – particularly over these last five weeks – is a lot.

“Please be kind to yourself, take solace with those you love…and know that change IS finally coming.

“And don’t forget, 24 hour counselling is always available at 1800RESPECT. xxx #enoughisenough.”

The TV presenter is pictured wearing merchandise from the singer Amy Shark who in turn expressed her support in the comment section of the post.

“Ur a woman of so much wisdom, knowledge and kindness… and epic taste in music,” wrote Amy.

In another post, Lisa made sure to send another important message in response to the NSW floods.

The devastating image of a cow submerged in water posted by Lisa was originally shared by her friend Dr Chris Brown.

Lisa captioned the picture, “This heartbreaking photo of a dairy cow clinging to life on the NSW mid north coast is by Oscar Watson-Sutherland and via @drchrisbrown’s always excellent insta feed.

“Thinking of everyone – creatures great and small – and particularly all those families affected by these unforgiving rains.

“Shoutout too to our amazing SES women and men for their always selfless work.

“If you’d like to help all those families affected, make sure you do so through the official partnership between the government and national online charity GIVIT.

“GIVIT meets those needs through an online warehouse, or by purchasing requested items locally using donated funds, further helping affected communities.

It has been a hard few weeks for Australians, and Lisa’s poignant posts will garner critical attention to these issues and help those affected feel supported.
