Love Island winner Tayla Damir and Richmond player Nathan Broad recently tied the knot and banned friends and family, many of who were influencers, from using their phones as Tayla walked down the aisle.

Tayla told The Herald Sun that she, and her soon-to-be husband at the time, were planning to follow the wedding trend of an ‘unplugged wedding‘, and asked guests not to use their recording devices.

Tayla announced her engagement on Instagram in June, posting the special moment when her boyfriend proposed.

An unplugged wedding ceremony is where only the hired professional photographer is allowed to take photos or videos.

The wedding was held in the Gold Coast hinterland where family and friends attended.

“When I walk down the aisle, I want to see everyone’s face rather than the back of phones so in that case it probably will be a no-phone wedding,” Tayla told The Herald Sun.

The couple, who have a combined following of 551,000 on Instagram, seems to have allowed some guests to whip their devices out and take photos at certain times during the wedding and reception, rather than banning photos altogether.

It appears that, although guests were snapping some shots, they were asked not to post the images to their socials until the festivities had come to a close.

Since their special day, they have both shared professional photographs of themselves with a stunning backdrop.

In an Instagram Q&A before the wedding day, Tayla announced that she wanted to be married before having children with Nathan.

‘I’m traditional in the sense that I would ideally like to be married first, but after that, let the baby-making begin,’ she said in the Instagram Q&A.
