Beloved Nine series Travel Guides will be back for a 2027 season, and the show will be shaking things up as we welcome back familiar faces – and some brand new ones!
After winning it’s fifth consecutive TV Week Logie for Best Lifestyle Program, fans will be delighted to know Travel Guides will be back bigger and better next year.
Not only will all our favourite Guides return, three new pairs will be joining the crew – and there’s some familiar faces!
The Block stars join Travel Guides 2027
Married couple and 2022 fan favourites Tom and Sarah-Jane Calleja are set to join the cast, alongside Olympic swimming royalty and sisters Cate and Bronte Campbell, and best mates and social media creators Fletch and Lachie, who run the brand Two Mates, One Chair.
Denise Scott will of course also be back to narrate the adventures.
Tom and Sarah-Jane Calleja have reportedly had their sights set on the show for some time, with Sarah-Jane trying and failing to be cast on the show two years ago with her mum.
Travel Guides quash 2027 cast speculation after former cast reveal pay issues
While it was rumoured some of the longstanding cast may be leaving in pursuit of new adventures, Nine has quashed the speculation with the 2027 cast announcement.
All of our fave Guides like the Fren family, Kevin and Janetta, Dorian and Teng, Matt and Brett, Karly and Bri, Callum and Mitch, and Brooke and Adam will return for the 2027 season.
Earlier this year, former fan faves Stack and Mel revealed the poor pay the cast received, despite the adventures they were going on.
“There just wasn’t enough money in it. You can’t go away for six months of the year, maintain a mortgage and f***ing live,” Mel said on the Smoko Room podcast. “We did it for seven years and I said to Stack, ‘We’re going to have to either pull the pin [or] ask for more money… so we asked for more money and they didn’t handle that real well.”
Mel, who at the time had only just given birth to her daughter Savannah, then admitted to growing irate when producers told her to “just leave her [Savannah] at home and come travel.”
“I was like, ‘Get f***ed!’” she exclaimed. “I just couldn’t afford my mortgage and I left Savannah’s dad when she was quite young so I’ve been a single parent ever since and I just couldn’t afford it. So I was like, ‘Well, the TV stuff has to go’ and I had to bunker down and put my little girl first.”
