Farmer Wants A Wife 2026 star Lily Tomkinson has revealed she’s received a letter from her lifelong hero Sir David Attenborough – and it’s left her in tears.
Lily, a wildlife conservationist, shared a video to Instagram capturing the moment she opened the personal letter, visibly overwhelmed as she read it for the first time.
“Some letters you keep. Some letters you keep forever,” she captioned the post. “David Attenborough has been one of the most influential people in my life for as long as I can remember. His voice, his stories and his unwavering belief in the natural world helped shape the person I am today.
“To receive a letter from someone who inspired me to dedicate my life to wildlife… I honestly don’t have the words.”
Lily went on to say the letter would take pride of place in her home. “It will be staying right beside my bed – a little reminder of why I started, and why I want to keep going.”

Lily’s love of the natural world was central to her decision to leave Farmer Dylan’s season early.
At the time, she cited her heart not being in the process, telling Dylan and the other ladies: “I’m having a hard time justifying everything I’ve put on line to be here. The world’s on fire, the ocean is dying, and I can’t get past it.”
An insider close to Lily told Woman’s Day her departure came down to not aligning with the format. “It’s all curated, it’s all staged,” the source said. “She thought it was a waste of time when she could get back to saving animals.”

Despite not winning Dylan’s heart, Lily has emerged as one of the breakout stars of the season, now boasting more than 160,000 Instagram followers.
She previously told Woman’s Day that her passion for animals barely made it to screen. “It all got cut, and I think it’s such an amazing story, and I’d love to tell it more. It was definitely disappointing for me [to watch].”
The 28-year-old Queenslander said she entered the show with around 30,000 followers, but insists the show isn’t behind her recent growth – her profile was already gaining serious traction beforehand thanks to viral wildlife content, including a video of a carpet python turning up in her bedroom.
“I was reaching five million accounts in the last 30 days when I gave it over [to Farmer producers], and… it plateaued a lot when I didn’t have access to it,” she said. “It didn’t help at all. I lost followers during it… of course they turn off comments, they turn off DMs, and when you don’t get engagement, that’s when things really drop off.”
