It’s been 17 years since we were treated to the third instalment in The Santa Clause movie trilogy, and now, there’s a popular sequel to keep us entertained during the holidays.
Set nearly 30 years after the release of the first The Santa Clause film in 1994, the series follows Scott Calvin as he struggles to balance his duties as Father Christmas and being an actual father.
The Santa Clauses sees the return of iconic and dearly loved characters from the original films, with a second season on its way to provide a comedic and nostalgic journey back to the North Pole.

After being Santa Claus for nearly 30 years, Scott Calvin is back in the sleigh and is jolly as ever. But as Christmas declines in popularity, so does his Santa magic.
As per the official synopsis, Scott struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, as well as being there for his family.
Upon discovering there is a way to retire from his post, Scott considers stepping down as Santa Claus and finding a worthy successor so that he can become a better father and husband.
But in the second season, we see Scott continue his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when failing to find a worthy successor in season one.
Although, now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, he turns his focus towards training his son Cal to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus.

Tim Allen returns to reprise his role as Scott Calvin in The Santa Clauses, joined by Eric Lloyd as Scott’s son Charlie, Elizabeth Mitchell as Scott’s wife Carol, and David Krumholt as the head elf, Bernard.
The series also introduces a number of new characters, including Austin Kane and Elizabeth Allen-Dick (Tim Allen’s real-life daughter) as Scott and Carol’s grown-up children.
Season two will also see Emmy Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) in the role of Magnus Antas, aka The Mad Santa, alongside Tracy Morgan as Easter Bunny and Marta Kessler as Olga, a surly, take-no-prisoners gnome.

The Santa Clauses season one is available to watch now on Disney+, with season two debuting with a two-episode premiere on November 8, followed by new episodes weekly.
