Former Bachelor in Paradise star Megan Leto Marx has shared refreshingly candid details about the painstaking process of donating her eggs to couples who are struggling to conceive.

Megan, who announced her selfless decision in July, has chosen to only document the procedure on her OnlyFans account as fertility issues can be triggering for some women.

But on Tuesday, the 32-year-old shared a rare glimpse into her painful but rewarding journey of egg donation.

The 32-year-old announced in July that she would be selflessly helping couples to have children by becoming an egg donor.

Megan said she flew from Western Australia to Queensland after six weeks away for her current egg donation, but ended up being rushed to hospital after she touched down.

“[I had] severe abdominal swelling and pain, plus a few other milder symptoms (nausea, dizziness, leg pain, shortness of breath). I’m unsure if being in the air made it worse,” she revealed to her 156,000 Instagram followers.

Megan revealed she suffers from ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), which is an exaggerated response to excess hormones. It usually occurs in women taking injectable hormone medications to stimulate the development of eggs in the ovaries.

“OHSS is no joke. I can’t imagine how people with severe symptoms deal with this, because it’s just been a week of hell,” she candidly shared.

But the reality star managed to keep her sense of humour over the situation. After six weeks apart, Megan sarcastically joked that her reunion with her partner Keith Newman was “super romantic” due to her painful symptoms.

“All in all I’ll be fine. Basically the amount of fluid leaking into my body is causing all these issues (on top of the hormonal [issues],” she continued.

Megan went on to thank the “legends” at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, and said she will now rest up in bed.

Megan started her egg donation journey in January this year, but kept it private until July when she announced her selfless decision to help other couples conceive.

“Six months in the making. In bed pretty sore today after the procedure this morning. Please don’t send me congratulations! I’m not pregnant, I’m not trying to get pregnant, and have not/ am not freezing my eggs – but yes, this is fertility based, and rather invasive,’ she wrote at length,” she wrote alongside a video showing the medical procedure.

“I know talking about fertility can be triggering for many people, for good reason, so I’ll be sharing from a different platform – OnlyFans, so you can be intentional with your decision to watch.”

Megan revealed she isn’t currently trying to get pregnant with boyfriend Keith Newman.

Megan said she had been swamped with messages of support and praise from fans since going public with her journey.

“I’ve been overwhelmed by DMs last night and today regarding egg donation, from both wonderful people wanting to donate, and stories from amazing people wanting to become parents,” she wrote.

“It’s insane to me how much stigma there is around fertility discussions. I really hope that we can break down some barriers together.”

At the time, Megan said she had only donated once, but this week marks the second time the 32-year-old has helped a struggling couple to start a family of their own.
