After a year of keeping his snaps to himself and a curated group of trusted followers, Orlando Bloom has finally set his stream of Instagram snaps free!
The handsome actor marked the moment he switched the social media account from private to public with a snap written in his handwriting that read: “I caved…”
His ex-wife and Instagram enthusiast was one of the first to congratulate the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, reacting to his decision with the comment, “Nice one!”

They say a picture tells a thousand words, so it comes as no surprise that since Orly has unveiled his happy snaps, we’ve learnt A LOT more about him.

1. He loves animals
The actor showed off his passion for nature by taking a dip next to an elephant while travelling in India.
Another handful of happy snaps show the star’s obsession with furry friends, and in particular, his 12-year-old dog Sidi, who he rescued in 2004 while filming Kingdom of Heaven on location in Morocco. After Sidi passed away, it appears Orly has commemorated him by having his skeleton mounted.
The pup meant everything to Orlando… “Hanging in there. 12years. What I wouldn’t give to get him a new liver,” he wrote.
After his death, the actor wanted a way to remember him forever. “Mans best friend…when you can’t let go,” he wrote besides this memory.
2. Orlando is a big fan of slow motion
The father-of-one has uploaded countless clips in which he jumps off clips, rides on dirt bikes, or backflips into the sea.
In one particularly funny video, the heartthrob makes reference to his infamous nude paddle-boarding snaps with Katy Perry, by uploading a clip where he runs dramatically in slow motion towards the camera.
“When you are chasing down the guy who stole your swimming trunks,” he wrote jokingly.

3. Family time is important to him
Just one week ago, Orlando shared a candid snap taking a picturesque bike ride by the sea, led by his mother Sonia.
The Brit has also treated fans to a few glimpses of his five-year-old son, Flynn, who he shared with ex Miranda Kerr.
“My mum,” he wrote fondly alongside this image.

4. He has a sex tape
Or rather a very punny sense of humour…
By writing the word “sex” on a roll of tape, Orly displayed both his naughty side, and his ability to dad-joke!

5. Finally, he has a very big heart
In 2009, he became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and from his Instagram accont, it’s clear to see that Orlando has gone above and beyond to fight for the survival, protection and development of children worldwide.
The actor has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassaodor since 2009.
