Women’s stories, both the funny (Get Krack!n) and the thrilling (Top Of The Lake: China Girl), have been arriving on our screens in rapid succession of late, and it’s no coincidence we’re seeing more women involved in all areas of television production too.

According to an August report from Screen Australia’s Gender Matters initiative, 83 per cent of TV dramas funded by the federal agency for 2017-18 had women in at least half their key creative roles.
