Two teams clash on The Block clash after accidental tip off

At The Block share house a few drinks and a casual conversation can be all it takes to reveal a game-changing secret. This week Courtney accidentally lets slip details about a crucial piece of equipment, and Adam is listening very carefully.

With his own tiling troubles mounting, builder Adam wastes no time acting on Courtney’s accidental tip about where to get a wet saw.

“Court gave me the tip, I just happened to act on it very, very quickly,” Adam tells TV WEEK. “You never know when the smallest hint or tip might be the thing that gets you over the line that week.”

But, when Courtney’s wet saw breaks the next day, she expects Adam to return the favour and lend his, but he refuses. 

“Once we had our hands on that saw, there was no way I was lending it out before we’d finished what we needed to do,” Adam says. “That could completely change the outcome of the week.”

Understandably, Courtney isn’t thrilled with her neighbour, particularly given he wouldn’t have had the saw without her tip in the first place.

“She was probably cranky at me,” Adam admits. “But I didn’t have time to take too much of it onboard. We had to stay focused on getting those spaces finished to a really high standard because we wanted that win.”

And the wet saw isn’t the only source of tension between the two houses. The teams were already at odds after cattle station managers Adam and Jolene ended up with a Christian Cole table that Courtney and Sev had been forced to part with because their dwindling budget couldn’t stretch to it.

“We didn’t know how upset they were over that table,” Jolene says. “We were making a conscious effort to block out any unnecessary noise from the other teams by then.”

With tempers already simmering, could one borrowed power tool be enough to turn the friendly rivalry into all-out war?

The Block airs Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 7pm on Nine Network and 9Now.
