When former Married At First Sight contestant Bec Zacharia’s audition tape for Big Brother appeared on the show’s social pages, fans immediately wondered if the controversial bride was heading back to our screens. Well, the answer is… maybe.
“I haven’t heard from them [the Big Brother team] but my manager got a call from a certain network to see whether or not I could get out of contract with Endemol – with MAFS,” content creator Bec, 35, tells TV WEEK. “I haven’t heard back as to what TV show that is, but I have been given permission.”
Bec says the idea to apply came after fans encouraged her during livestreams and Q&As, and she was intrigued by the chance to show viewers a different side of herself.
“People have only ever seen one version of me on TV,” the Adelaide-based socialite explains. “That was a version of me that was going through an incredibly intense and emotional experience, in a relationship where I felt like I was being gaslit.”
“Big Brother would mean people would ultimately get to see who I am. How loyal I am and what a good friend I can be, rather than just being gaslit by a man and unhappy.”

Bec was matched with Danny Hewitt on Season 18 and has since made headlines for her long-running feud with co-star Gia Fleur and her controversial rib-removal surgery. But despite the scrutiny, she says she is ready to return to television.
“There’s an element of nerves to returning, but I also know who I am,” she says. “Mentally, I’m in such a strong place and I feel good. I’ve also done a lot of work on myself since then. I don’t let people’s negativity impact me anymore. It’s made me a really, really tough cookie, what I’ve experienced.”
And Bec may have a little MAFS intel to share, revealing some of the new contestants have already tracked her down.

“I was at the pub one night with former MAFS contestants Luke, Steve-O, Chris Nield and Sammy Stants and I posted a photo of us cheersing and tagged them,” she recalls. “Three of the current grooms saw it on my social media and caught an Uber and came straight to the pub and introduced themselves and sat down.”
As for what’s coming for MAFS in 2027?
“There’s been a little bit of mistrust in a couple of relationships,” Bec teases. “But no season is ever the same. Our year was a year of women vs women, but I think this year will be the year of men again.”
