The top 10 most romantic moments on Bones

Did Brennan and Booth have the most drawn-out romance in the history of TV? It felt like it.
Bones

American series Bones premiered in 2005 and won our hearts almost instantly. The quirky nature of Dr Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) coupled with the wit of Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) made the show a winner in our books.

The final episode of Bones aired in April after 12 years, so TV WEEK decided to look back at the most romantic moments between the power couple that is Brennan and Booth.

Hot-blooded duo [season 1, ep 15, “Two Bodies in the Lab”]

Okay, so there isn’t a lot of romance in the first season, but there are a few meaningful moments. While staying over at Brennan’s (Emily Deschanel) house to protect her, Booth (David Boreanaz) searches through her CD collection. He pulls out a Foreigner album, and convinces her to get up and dance to “Hot Blooded”. Woo-hoo!

Digging each other [season 2, ep 9, “Aliens in a Spaceship”]

In possibly the most suspenseful episode ever, Brennan is buried alive in a car with Hodgins (T. J. Thyne). Booth is frantic. Just as it seems certain the air in the car will run out, Booth works out where Brennan is buried and sprints over. He digs down and pulls her out, showing how deep his feelings are.

Under the mistletoe [season 3, ep 9, “Santa in the Slush”]

Booth and Brennan only kiss because it’s Christmas, they’re under the mistletoe and Caroline (Patricia Belcher) demands it. But while their lips are locked, they come to a realisation. The looks on their faces afterwards say it all. That was… amazing.

Dream relationship [season 4, ep 26, “The End in the Beginning”]

Brennan and Booth are doing it, and it’s hot. Only it turns out that Booth is in a coma following an operation. Brennan is sitting by his bedside, reading aloud a story about the two of them. So it didn’t really happened. But it’s still hot.

Tied up in knots [season 5, ep 5, “A Night at the Bones Museum”]

At the museum for an event honouring Brennan, the duo are both dressed up and looking stunning. They’re alone together, and the sexual tension is almost unbearable. In the end, Brennan just straightens Booth’s tie, and Booth touches her hair. That’s all.

Drawn together [season 6, ep 22, “The Hole in the Heart”]

It’s a terrible tragedy that finally brings Brennan and Booth together. Vincent Nigel-Murray (Ryan Cartwright) has been shot, and Brennan is seeking comfort. She finds it in Booth’s bed. Viewers don’t get to see much, but it definitely happens. Before long, Brennan is pregnant.

A decent proposal [season 8, ep 24, “The Secret in the Siege”]

With Brennan fearing that Booth’s life is in danger from yet another serial killer, she proposes. There’s a bag of beef jerky involved. But the words are romantic: “I’ve been afraid, I’ve been stubborn, and I’ve been in love. I love you. I want you to be my husband. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me, Booth?”

White wedding [season 9, ep 6, “The Woman in White”]

Just a few minor things go wrong in the lead-up to the wedding. Like, the church burning down. But it ends up going ahead. For her vows, Brennan reads the note she wrote to Booth when she was buried alive back in season two. That’s forward planning.

Handle with care [season 10, ep 1, “The Conspiracy in the Corpse”]

After a long stint in jail, Booth is released due to Brennan blackmailing a judge. He’s been badly beaten, but Brennan still wants to get intimate with him. She lets him know she’s going to take it gently, for his sake. “I promise this won’t hurt a bit,” she says.
