It turns out the royals are just like the rest of us – when it comes to fashion, that is.

Duchess Catherine is fast becoming known as the queen of recycled looks, while Duchess Meghan is proving you can still look royally chic without the royal budget – and her latest look is case and point.

Indeed, the newly minted Duchess has high end designers falling at her feet to design her next look. But it looks like Meghan is keeping things simple when it comes to her wardrobe, opting for a dresses that aren’t so hard for us normal folk to come by.

It all started with this red polka dot dress she wore in Queensland during her royal tour in October, which cost a cosy AUD $163. Not bad for a royal-worthy style!

Next came the shoes – ever the cool-girl, Markle’s sneakers and Rochy’s flats are less than $200 a-piece. Excuse us as we hit ‘add to cart’!

But in a look that might just top all of her affordable picks off, a stunning black dress worn by the Duchess to a very formal event at the Royal Albert Hall this week had us thinking it was another high end design worth thousands – but boy were we wrong.

The off-shoulder design had fans wondering where they could buy their own!

The elegant off-shoulder dress is in fact from Marks & Spencer, and will only set you back $AUD94.00. Yep, you read that right, and the proof is here.

Hello! confirmed the news while the dress was still available in all sizes online, however you’ll have to be quick – as the news spreads it’s quickly selling out!

The dress also comes in red, which is perfect for any upcoming Christmas celebrations. Given the off-shoulder design, it’ll also work whether you’re in the northern or southern hemisphere.

Aptly named ‘The Meghan Effect’, the frenzies ensuing as Meghan steps out in multiple stylish ensembles has left some designers bemused.

While in Australia, Meghan wore a striking navy blue dress by homegrown designer Dion Lee.

Within the hour, the prominent designer’s website had crashed as fans flocked to view the dress online. Lee commented on the mania, stating: “It’s a whole other level [of attention]. I can’t say our website has ever crashed as a result of anyone wearing our clothes.”

Meanwhile, Duchess Catherine has also caused frenzies of her own after wearing certain styles out and about, particularly her recent recycled looks.

Stepping out for a charity event in London in November, Kate looked every bit a Princess in a blue gown she had worn a six years ago, and she’d barely aged a day!

And earlier this week, fans were ecstatic to catch a glimpse of a beautiful ruffled pink dress Kate wore to Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace.

While we’re yet to see a full-length picture of the Duchess in the frock, that hasn’t stopped many people from speculating where it came from.

It is widely believed the dress is by US label Marchesa, and the full length version is, to put it simply, stunning.

If Kate’s dress is the Marchesa design, it looks like the Duchess had it tailored to include a shoulder which was embellished with flowers.

The Duchess paired the pink gown with a pair of dazzling earrings, which were last seen on Kate at the 2017 BAFTAs. It is believed the bling is part of Kate’s own jewellery collection.

Last year, the Duchess wore another lace pink gown by the same designer when she attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace – so it wouldn’t surprise us if the above design was the one!
