With the hometowns just around the corner on The Bachelorette Australia, the final suitors are beginning to wonder how Ali will fit in with their families – and frontrunner Taite is feeling the pressure.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve brought a girl home,” Taite, 28, tells TV WEEK. “But I definitely think they’ll like Ali.

“It’s been hard, though, because I haven’t been able to talk to my mum − who I’m really close to − about her.

“Usually, if I’m seeing someone, I’ll tell Mum and show her photos. My family will just have to take Ali for who she is and make their own judgement.”

Taite and Ali had loads of chemistry on their first one-on-one date.

This week will prove an emotional challenge for Ali when she starts to question whether some of her suitors have been truthful about their feelings for her.

Taite says he’s falling for Ali, but needs more time before deciding if she’s “the one”.

“I wouldn’t say I’m holding back,” he explains. “I just think I need more time to get to know her.

“I’m quite guarded with my feelings − not because I’m scared, but because I want to make sure it’s right.”

Meanwhile, Todd has proven he’s one to watch after his date with Ali, 32, last week.

Like Ali, he’s keen to settle down and wants to have kids by the time he’s 30.

“Ali would be an amazing mum,” the 26-year-old says. “She just has an aura of warmth about her. She’d be so loving. If we have children, I’ll be the disciplinarian − she’s too bloody nice!”

But there is one thing that could stand in the way of a happy ever after: his career. For Todd, becoming a police officer is, for the time being, an important priority.

“Our timelines don’t match up perfectly,” he says. “But in terms of the new career, I could be settled in that within 18 months. It would be a little bit of wait for her, but that’s what relationships are about – compromise.”

Sparks were flying between Ali and Todd.

The Bachelorette Australia airs Wednesday and Thursday, 7:30pm, on Network 10.
