Home Alone’s Catherine O’Hara has still got it at 61

You’ll remember her from Home Alone as Macaulay Culkin’s neurotic mum, but these days she’s unrecognisable and looking stunning at 61.

Although quite an established star in her native Canada, Catherine O’Hara rose to fame in the late eighties as Delia Deetz in Beetlejuice and of course, Kate McCallister in the Home Alone series.

Today she’s 61, happily married with two kids and starring in the hit show Schitt’s Creek.

But if you ever wondered if she still talks to Macaulay Culkin, wait no more because in an interview with Watch What Happens Live earlier this year, she spilled the beans on their relationship.

“You know, I haven’t seen him for years and years, but I saw him a year and half ago at a Martin Mull art opening and he came up to me a went ‘mummy!’ and I said, ‘baby!”

“He was living in Paris at the time, he looked lovely and was doing really well and I was happy to see him. Love him,” she added.

And if you thought her influence was minimal – think again, as Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson labels Catherine one of his “heroes,” in a recent Instagram post.

“Sometimes being an actor means you get to work with your heroes. Beyond excited to share some scenes with the brilliant Catherine O’Hara,” the star shared on social media.

“I was happy to see him. Love him,” she added.

Catherine attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party this year with her husband of 22 year Bob Welch.

These days she stars alongside Eugene Levy in Schitt’s Creek.

She also has an admirer in Jesse Tyler Ferguson as he revealed in social media,“sometimes being an actor means you get to work with your heroes. Beyond excited to share some scenes with the brilliant Catherine O’Hara,”
