Baby snatched from pram on Sydney street

The woman swooped when the baby’s mother was crouching down to get a bottle from a bag under the pram.

A mother was pushing her eight-month-old baby along Penrith’s High Street when a woman in her 30s snatched the infant out of the pram.

The mother had bent down to retrieve a bottle from a bag at around 10am on Friday when the woman approached the pram, undid the baby’s harness and grabbed her.

Fortunately the mother spotted the attempted abduction and managed to rescue the girl. Nether mother or baby was injured.

Police are searching for witnesses to the incident. The woman is described as Caucasian, 30 years old, 185cm tall with dark brown hair.
