When Duchess Catherine stepped out this week at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019 press day, we loved her printed floral dress so much we had to frantically find out where she bought it and see if we could get our own.

And while the Duchess of Cambridge has always been a style icon, we couldn’t help but notice that she’s not the only royal who’s a fan of this particular frock.

As she showed the Queen around her stunning Chelsea Flower Show garden design, Kate’s Erdem floral maxi dress worth around £2602 (that’s a whopping $AUD4,790) caught the eye of fashion fans everywhere but she may have taken style inspo from her husband’s cousin, Princess Eugenie.

Indeed the tenth in line to the throne wore the exact same dress, only shorter and with a higher neckline to the traditional Royal Maundy service at Windsor Castle with her grandmother the Queen and has worn it to other events including Royal Ascot and the UN Headquarters.

The dress was in the headlines as eagle-eyed royal watchers suspected Princess Eugenie was hiding an emerging baby bump.

And Eugenie isn’t the only royal who’s jumped on the Erdem bandwagon. The Duchess of Kent wore it well before the younger royals to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s wedding last year and paired the look with sneakers because comfort trumps fashion sometimes.

The 86 year-old royal is married to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent who is one of the Queen’s first cousins. Yeah we had to Google that too.

Sneakers seem to shoe style of choice for some of our favourite royals.

Duchess Kate sported a pair of Superga sneakers at the Chelsea Flower Show when she was showing a group of school children around her nature garden and for anyone desperate to copy her style, they retail for under $90 in Australia!

Duchess Meghan loves a pair of comfy shoes too– her Veja white sneakers that she wore while attending some of Invictus Games events in Sydney Harbour cost are pretty modest for royal standards and can be bought for $AUD195 from online shopping website The Iconic. Sales on the website increased by a whopping 800 per cent within 48 hours of Meghan wearing the style.

Erdem is a particular favourite designer of the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Eugenie. Bookies predicted that the latter would wear a dress from that designer on her wedding to Jack Brooksbank after she wore an Erdem floral dress at her official engagement photo shoot.

Instead, the princess chose a Peter Piloto and Christopher de Vos ensemble that proudly displayed the scar from her scoliosis surgery on her back.

We’re staying tuned for more incredible Erdem gowns from our favourite royal ladies!
