You may already know that cranberry juice and its freeze-dried extracts can help to treat and prevent recurrent cystitis, but Czech researchers have also found cranberries can help prevent benign prostatic hyperplasia in men.

Researchers writing in the British Journal of Nutrition have found that cranberry’s protective effects can also help men who are suffering from the symptoms of benign prostate hyperplasia, such as increased frequency of urination and reduced flow.

In addition to experiencing a lessening of their symptoms, it is significant that the men in this study also reported great improvements on measures of “quality of life”.
