It’s a Today baby boom with Sylvia Jeffreys announcing she is expecting her third baby!
On the red carpet at the 66th TV WEEK Logie Awards, the presenter, who announced her exciting news on social media just hours before the event, says she “couldn’t keep it a secret anymore”.
Sylvia, 40, already has two sons, Henry and Oscar, with husband and journalist Peter Stefanovic.

Sylvia on her third child: ‘It’s a happy time’
“To have a little girl; our family is simply delighted and it’s such a happy time,” Sylvia tells TV WEEK, adding she has “smuggled in an extra plus one” to the Logies.
“Everyone knows about it now, but the jig was up. I couldn’t hide it much longer!” she says. “But it’s nice to finally breathe out!”
The announcement comes off the back off colleague Danika Mason‘s pregnancy news, as well as anchor Sarah Abo who welcomed a baby boy just a few weeks ago.
“I was at that desk for five minutes and Kaboom!” Sylvia says with a laugh. “So that’s a warning for anyone who goes there.”
Today colleagues react to baby boom
Danika, who is nominated for the Bruce McAvaney Award for Best Sports Presenter, says she was so happy to hear the news. She is keen to welcome the next generation of Today stars.
“Sylvia called me [with the news] and I was over the moon,” Danika says. “For her to be having a little girl too is wonderful. Between Sylvia and Sarah, I have everyone on speed dial!”

Tom Steinfort, who is a strong contender to replace Karl Stefanovic as host of Today, says he hopes the good news can keep coming with a win at the Logies.
“I’d love them both to win something because Sylvia is pregnant and so is Danika, and Sarah’s had a baby” he says. “So there must be something in the water.”
