We discuss the big talking points on TV this week

From Sam Frost's role on Home And Away to all the drama on The Bachelor Australia, here's what the TV WEEK office are talking about.
Sam Frost

1. This Time Next Year – Is is all over too quickly?

While we love the premise of This Time Next Year – and who doesn’t enjoy an extra slice of host Karl Stefanovic – everything seems to happen too quickly on the time-bending new show.

You don’t get a chance to connect with the participants.

They tell their story, then they’re whisked off stage and we catch up with them a year later. But we miss out on the best part – their journey!

2. Home And Away – Why the frosty reception?

The backlash over Sam Frost joining Home And Away has to stop.

Firstly, seeking new challenges
in life is not a crime.

Secondly, not everyone who joins H&A is a NIDA graduate.

Johnny Ruffo, Pia Miller and Isabel Lucas came to the show with limited acting experience. Give Sam a chance before you judge.

3. Game Of Thrones – The show that divides

TV fans can be separated into two camps – those who watch Game Of Thrones and those who don’t.

With the return of TV’s most buzzed-about show, we’re once again reminded that if you’re not familiar with the Lannisters and the Starks, you might feel a bit
left out of the watercooler chat.

4. The Bachelor Australia – Whole lotta love

Fans may have been worried Bachelor Matty J wouldn’t live up to their expectations – especially coming off the back of fellow “recycled” Bachie
Richie Strahan’s season.

But the hunky 30-year-old has proved us all wrong.

Just two episodes in and we’ve fallen head over heels for him all over again. Not only has Matty proven he has what it takes to be the Bachelor, but he really is the perfect gentleman.

Let’s just hope he can tame resident villains Jennifer and Leah.

5. Blue Murder: Killer Cop – Seeing double

The resemblance between real-life disgraced cop Roger Rogerson and the man who plays him, Richard Roxburgh, is so uncanny, it’s nearly impossible to tell them apart.

Watching Blue Murder: Killer Cop, we couldn’t help but award the TV WEEK Logie For Best Likeness to Richard Rogerson – or
is it Roger Roxburgh?

Who knows anymore?
