Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are on the hunt for a brand-new home in their new city of Los Angeles, and they’ve got a very specific brief.

The Duke and Duchess moved to the Californian city at the end of March as they formally stepped back from their roles as senior royal family members, and while things have been a little different to what they expected amid COVID-19, it seems they’re ready to properly settle in now.

Harry and Meghan have been self isolating at an LA property with their young son Archie in tow, but it looks like they won’t be there too much longer.

According to HELLO!, the couple are said to be eyeing up a property in the affluent area Pacific Palisades, the pair are looking at living beside some of Hollywood’s most well-known faces, including Tom Hanks and Ben Affleck.

But famous affiliates aside, there’s one other thing about the property that truly stands out for the pair – it has an annexe, also known as a granny flat.

With the pair choosing to live in Los Angeles, it’s no doubt a comfort to them to live close to Meghan’s mother Doria, who raised Meghan in the US city.

Understandably, it seems natural for the pair to have her closer than ever now that they’re in the same place, so a granny flat for Doria (who is a literal granny to Archie, of course) is perfect.

Meghan and Harry are said to be eyeing up a property with a very convenient granny flat.

It was heavily rumoured that Meghan and Harry’s old property in the UK, Frogmore Cottage was to be fitted out with a granny flat especially for Doria when she came to stay.

But it seems they’ve one-upped the option as they settle into in LA life.

Archie is also about to turn one this week, so it’s also likely the pair will be looking for a home where a growing toddler can run amok – no doubt with his grandma!

The Duke and Duchess have big things planned for LA.

Doria managed a few trips back and forth to the UK while Meghan and Harry remained there in their first years of marriage.

When baby Archie was born, Doria flew over to be with her daughter, and the royals no doubt caught up with Doria sporadically throughout the rest of the year, likely with a few FaceTimes between in-person visits.

Despite clearly being busy with house hunting, the pair have also been keeping busy giving their time to various social causes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In April, they were spotted delivering food to the vulnerable alongside local LA charity Project Angel.

They also partook in several video calls where they spoke to people from charities they previously worked with in the UK.

With the announcement of their new foundation also bringing some anticipation for the future, it seems the Sussexes are an unstoppable force when it comes to getting things done, no matter the circumstance.

Next stop, a lavish new home.
