Duchess Meghan has shared a deeply troubling confession about her pregnancy experience within the royal family, telling Oprah Winfrey in her tell-all interview that there were conversations about how dark her child’s skin colour would be.

In the exposing interview, a no-holds-barred depiction of life in the royal family, Meghan tells Oprah about her concern at the lack of support she had while pregnant with her young son.

“We had in tandem the conversations of how he won’t be given security, she said in the interview.

According to Meghan, there were also multiple conversations about how her child would not have a title, something that wasn’t spoken about with Meghan before.

She also added that Palace aides, raised “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

Oprah asks her more about this, with Meghan telling her: “That was relayed to me from Harry from conversations that family had with him.”

Meghan added that her security concerns only deepened throughout her last few months of pregnancy.

“They were saying they didn’t want him to be a prince, which would be different to protocol, and that he wasn’t going to receive security. This went on for the last few months of our pregnancy,” she explained.

In the Oprah interview, Meghan refused to name the person who commented on Archie’s skin colour citing it would be too damaging for them.

Meghan spoke freely for the first time after her May 2018 wedding.

In other concerning revelations, Meghan explained that while the Queen always made her feel welcome, she felt unsafe as a whole.

“So often people in the firm would say ‘you can’t do this because it would look like that’,” Meghan told her.

She also added that everyone in Meghan’s life was instructed to say “no comment”.

She initially thought this was to protect her, but this never combated the extremely negative press coverage she consistently recieved.

“It was only when things really started to worsen that I realised I wasn’t being protected but they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family but not me and my husband.”
