All six episodes of the Harry & Meghan docuseries have dropped on Netflix and with them came an onslaught of royal revelations.

The docuseries is part of a $200 million multi-year deal the contentious couple signed with the streaming giant in 2020 and has been highly anticipated as a tell-all follow-up to the couple’s March 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey which made waves around the world.

But was the docuseries worth the wait? And more importantly, were there any revelatory truth bombs that left viewers gasping for breath?

In short, it’s a mixed bunch….

Tears were shed….

Filming began as early as March 2020

Given the timeline of their relationship and tumultuous exit from official royal duties, viewers’ interest was piqued when it was revealed that footage feature in the docuseries was filmed as early as March 2020, two years prior to the docuseries even being given the green light by Netflix.

”A friend of ours suggested we document this period of our lives because there’s already so much misinformation around,” Harry explains.

He doesn’t elaborate on who this friend is, but, but it is clear the couple [Harry and Meghan] are grateful for the very sage advice given the footage they filmed has now been put to good use, in a docuseries that is focused on telling ”their truth”.

Harry first ‘saw’ Meghan via his Instagram

We’ve all heard the stories of how Meghan was set up on a ‘blind date’ with Harry by a shared mutual friend (sign us up for a friend like that please), but what many didn’t realise is that that WASN’T the first time Harry had laid eyes on his future wife.

In fact, Harry first saw Meghan for the first time on their friend’s Instagram, pictured with the dog Snapchat filter (circa 2016), admitting on camera that the image made him want to ”immediately want to get to know her”.

He then reached out to the mutual friend he shares with Meghan to ask if she would be keen to give this prince the chance to go on a date, and the rest is history!

Meghan left their first date after an hour

Harry actually rocked up to their first official date in London 30 minutes late (and flustered, he admits), and then Meghan left early, only an hour later to meet up with some friends. Leave them wanting more, as they say!

Undeterred though by the length (or should we say lack of length) of their first in-person meeting, Meghan rung Harry the very next night asking if he wanted to grab dinner last minute to back the most of her final night in London.

And thus would commence their cross-continental relationship.

Harry can’t remember many of his early years with his mother.

”I think I blocked them out,” Harry sadly admits to the camera.

His loaded confession tugged at heartstrings around the world as he discussed the ongoing trauma of her death.

”But I always remember her laugh.”

Does the truth really set you free?

Their last night of freedom was Halloween 2016

In a sweet story montage, the loved-up couple admitted that they were able to keep their relationship under wraps for almost six months.

When the tabloids got a whiff of their relo, the pair said they wanted to make the most of the limited freedom they still had (we say limited because Meghan was a well-known actress and Harry was, well, a prince).

”Well, if the story breaks tomorrow let’s go out and have fun tonight,” Meghan suggested.

And off they went with Princess Eugenie (aka Harry’s cousin) and her then-boyfriend (now husband) Jack to a Halloween party where they dressed up so no one recognised them.

In the docuseries, they described the evening as ”the last great night before everything changed”.

Meghan never planned on becoming an actress

Most known for her role in the legal drama Suits, Meghan said she had always had a keen eye for activism and was keen on producing and working in behind-the-scenes roles on television and movie sets.

”I always thought she should be a producer,” Suits co-star Abigail Spencer shared.

It’s funny how life plays out!

The Queen’s contact with her former favourite grandson was reportedly restricted by palace staff in the years prior to her death.

Prince William ”screamed and shouted” at Harry.

In a heated discussion about the prospect of Harry and Meghan officially leaving the royal family, William reportedly screamed at his brother.

”It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that simply weren’t true….and my grandmother [Queen Elizabeth] sit there and quietly take it all in.

”The saddest part of it was this wedge created between myself and my brother so that he’s on the institution side, and part of that I get, that’s his inheritance.

”So to some extent, it’s already ingrained in him that part of his responsibility is the survivability and continuation of this institution.”

Given Harry has seemingly confirmed the extent of the relationship breakdown he has had with his brother, we doubt – especially with this docuseries – things will get better anytime soon.

The Queen was controlled by puppets behind the scenes.

In perhaps one of the most shocking inclusions of the docuseries, Harry accuses the palace of preventing him from seeing his grandmmother, even after she invited him and Meghan to stay with her.

Speaking on the incident, the Queen reportedly said yes to the visit, before staff told Harry and Meghan that they were ”absolutely not” allowed to visit her.

Harry explained: ”I rang her and I said, ‘I’m told that you’re busy.’ She said, ‘Yes, I didn’t know that I was busy, I am told that I am busy all week,’ and I was like, ‘Wow.”’

It’s doubtful that Harry and William still enjoy a ”close bond,” given Harry’s loaded allegations.

Meghan suffered a stress induced miscarriage.

In what is arguably one of the most emotionally charged moments of the entire series, Meghan tearfully confirms that she had a miscarriage between Archie and Lillibet.

Speaking to viewers about the heartbreaking moment, close friend Abigail Spencer said: ”Meghan’s standing there waiting for me and I knew something was off,” adding: ”She’s showing me their home but she says ‘I’m having a lot of pain.’ She was holding Archie and she just fell to the ground.”

Meghan can then be heard saying: ”I was pregnant, I really wasn’t sleeping and the first morning that we woke up in our new home is when I miscarried.”

Harry then emotionally elaborated: ”I believe my wife suffered a miscarriage because of what the Mail did. I watched the whole thing. Now, do we absolutely know that the miscarriage was caused by that? Of course we don’t.

”But bearing in mind the stress that caused, lack of sleep, the timing of the pregnancy and how many weeks she was, I can say from what I saw that misscarriage was created by what they were trying to do to her.”
