What hangover? Zach Galifianakis has ditched the booze and is pretty much ripped

From Khloe Kardashian, who used her turbulent divorce to Lamar Odom as motivation to stop turning to unhealthy foods to the barely recognisable Mama June, who managed to drop almost 150kg in a year, it’s official: these A-listers have endured a whole range of workout routines, diets and, for some, even surgery to became their healthiest, happiest selves yet.

And sure, while we all know Zach Galifianakis for his hilarious portrayal of Alan Garner from The Hangover movies, this 47-year-old father-of-one is now cutting a figure you’d barely even recognise.

Rocking up for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards in Hollywood yesterday, Zach, who was nominated for the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award for his work in Baskets, it was hard not to recognise the comedian’s dramatic weightloss.

This isn’t the first time Zach’s new look has caught the attention of Hollywood, with the actor once even telling talkshow host Conan O’Brien that his weightloss is all down to quitting drinking and enjoying long walks.

“I stopped drinking and I just kind of put the weight off,” he told Conan in 2014.

“I was having a lot of vodka with sausage. Delicious but bad for you.”

After giving birth to her second bub just over a year ago on December 5, 2015, Kim Kardashian set herself the task of getting her body back to “2010 Kim,” which meant a loss of 31kg. In June, it was revealed on her Snapchat that she’d reached the milestone, and has since continued to shape up with grueling workouts and meals that follow the principles of the Atkins diet.

Neighbours star Olympia Valance has taken to Instagram with a stunning, lagoon-side snap showing off her impressive 20kg weight loss, which she achieved through a balanced diet and regular F45 training sessions.

Singer Ed Sheeran dropped a commendable 19kgs after he made the observation: “All my clothes have shrunk.” On how he did it, the 25-year-old ginger says, “I did ten minutes a day without fail — intervals of 30 seconds sprinting and 30 jogging.”

“The training regime initially was all about bone density and now I am finished radiation, I am focused on tone and general definition,” says Roxy, who attends one-on-one sessions three times a week, adding: “Nothing feels better than being in shape, your whole mindset changes.”

“The nutritionist was like, ‘Kim has a body like a Ferrari, and you have a body like a Honda,’” Khloe Kardashian said recently of her weightloss journey in an interview with Health Magazine. The now-fitness guru, who is stronger and happier than ever, also deems her divorce from ex-husband Lamar Odom to be a motivator for becoming her best self.

Mariah Carey admits she adopted a very “bleak” diet to achieve her third wedding bod, and although she never made it to the alter, the star plans to maintain her new look!
