Patrick Dempsey’s ‘McDreamy’ Malibu home for sale

Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick “Dr McDreamy” Dempsey is once again saying farewell, but this time it’s to his dream home.

Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick “Dr McDreamy” Dempsey is once again saying farewell, but this time it’s to his dream home.

Less than a week after his shock departure from the TV medical drama – where Dempsy’s character Dr Derek Shepard was killed by a car accident – the hunky actor and his estranged wife Jillian Fink have listed their stunning Frank Gehry-designed Malibu estate for $14.5 million, reports the LA Times.

The 49-year-old’s corrugated iron crib sits on 3.2 mountainside acres and features three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms within the 5,547 square feet of living space.

The estate comes complete with a luxurious pool, detached spa, four-stall barn for the family’s farm animals, vegetable gardens, flower beds and a rock-climbing wall… naturally.

According to the office of public records Dempsey and his wife Jillian, who filed for divorce in January, paid $7 million for the property in 2009.

“We were looking for a little land and space, and a house with some architectural significance,” the Grey’s Anatomy star told Architectural Digest in 2014.

“The exterior’s simplicity appealed to me, and the inside felt very expansive and calming. Everywhere you looked there was something visually pleasing.”

During his chat with the magazine the actor hinted that the one-of-a-kind home wouldn’t be his forever.

“It’s fun here,” he said. “You’re a caretaker of a house and you have to be very careful to nurture it and sustain it and hand it off to someone else eventually.”
