It was the dinner party revelation that sparked a whole new furore.
When celebrity cook Martha Stewart, 85, divulged details of what went down at a California gathering in an interview with People, it put a recently royally-reunited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a tricky situation.
“I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night,” Martha told People. “We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace.
“I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”
Martha didn’t end her take on the matter there.
“If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show,” the entrepreneur added. “It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there.”

Another attendee at the dinner party in question was quick to shoot down Martha’s troublesome claims.
“I sat next to Meghan at the dinner party, and this account of what happened is simply untrue,” the source claimed, adding, “Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time.”
Of course, any suggestion that the Duchess of Sussex had been loose-lipped about what went down during her family’s June reunion with King Charles would go down like a lead balloon in royal circles.
And now an insider tells Woman’s Day that the mere whiff of conversation about palace matters being aired is “the absolute worst thing that could be happening right now”.
The source says Harry and Meghan are “trying so hard to build back trust” after airing their own grievances about royal life so publicly in their infamous Oprah interview and in Harry’s memoir, Spare.
“Harry’s giving his father and everyone on the King’s staff these assurances that he and Meghan will both be total vaults and then this comes out – it’s an absolute nightmare,” the source continues.
“Meghan is adamant that she absolutely wasn’t sharing anything private, or anything at all for that matter, but unfortunately that doesn’t really undo the damage that Martha’s comments have done.”

The insider explains that “perception is everything” when it comes to royal matters.
“Now there are all these headlines that make it seem as though Meghan was blabbing all about the visit, it’s a terrible look and is not going to go over well with anyone at the palace,” they continue.
“Things are so delicate right now and people are so thirsty for any bit of gossip, even the nod of a head can be twisted into something.”
As a result of the recent furore, it’s claimed that Harry has now taken a stand – telling his wife that it’s “safest” to avoid Hollywood parties for now.
“Just to make sure nothing like this happens, because he feels they cannot afford any missteps and clearly nowhere is safe,” the source adds.
