The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent the morning at the National Arboretum in Canberra, leaving behind a small English touch – an oak tree.

Wearing an emerald green Catherine Walker dress and nude high-heels, Catherine turned the soil alongside her husband, Prince William.

Before planting the tree, the royal couple stopped to sign the official visitors’ book at the arboretum.

Later in the day they will attend a reception hosted by the Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, and visit the National Portrait Gallery.
