We’ve seen some questionable characters on Married At First Sight over the years from plastic surgery enthusiasts to downright chauvinists.

And while they bring the drama in spades, sometimes we just need someone wholesome and hilarious to root for when they’re looking for love.

MAFS applications for the 2021 season have officially opened and two of our favourite Gogglebox stars just hinted that they’d give the experiment a go.

How good would these two be on MAFS?

On Tuesday, Married At First Sight revealed that applications were open for the next season via their official Instagram page.

“Love could be just a few clicks away… ❤️ Apply for #MAFS via the link in my bio!” the official page read.

While many Aussies tagged their mates in the comments, one post certainly stood out for us.

“Shall I apply,” Anastasia and Faye’s joint account read, followed by a series of laughing emojis.

Fans instantly replied with their support with one penning, “Yes please! It will be worth watching then,” whilst another remarked. “At least it would be entertaining if you were on it.”

The best friends have starred on Gogglebox since the Australian version’s premiere.

While we’d love to see the pair in wedding dresses, Anastasia may still be a taken woman with boyfriend Gabriel.

Back in August, mum-of-two Anastasia revealed that she was contacted by a Gogglebox fan in Sydney via Facebook and one thing led to another and the pair now live together in Melbourne.

“It’s the best relationship I have ever had,” Anastasia admitted back in August.

Meanwhile, Faye tragically lost her long-term partner Tony to pancreatic cancer in late 2018.

“He was a good man… A man anyone would have been proud to call their own,” Anastasia said at the time.

If you’re curious about what the requirements are to be the next Married At First Sight breakout star, you have to tick a few boxes.

First up, you have to be over 25 and an Australian citizen, or at least have been a permanent resident for a minimum of two years.

You’ll also have to be available between August and December of this year for four months of filming so better double check with work if you’re keen.
