Well, for 224 people with two different models of ceiling lights, that feeling didn’t last long. The lights came crashing down.

IKEA has sent out an urgent recall of the Hyby and Lock models of the ceiling light due to faulty retaining clips. In a statement by the company, they said: “There are potential impact or laceration risks if Lock and Hyby ceiling lamp shade falls.”

The Lock ceiling lights have been on the market since November 2002 through to January 2016, and the Hyby model from October 2012 to January 2016.

Customers can expect a full refund for the product, and don’t need to provide a receipt to claim it. For those who have already installed the product, IKEA urges them to contact customer service.
