Colin Kingston’s father didn’t think his son was struggling with the end of his three-year romance until he received a phone call no parent should receive.
Colin, 24, said he had murdered his ex-girlfriend, Kelsey Annese, 21, about was about to kill himself too.
His father desperately called 911 but it was too late – Colin, Kelsey and Kelsey’s friend Matthew Hutchinson, 24, were dead.
Buffalo News reports Kingston arrived at Kelsey’s home near the State University of New York late on Sunday armed with a knife.
Kelsey and Matthew’s bodies were found later, stabbed to death while Colin was found dead elsewhere in the house.
Friends told local newspapers they were shocked by the crime as Colin had never showed signs of being violent.
“We believe Mr Kingston was distraught over the breakup, which led to the events yesterday,” a police detective told reporters at a media conference yesterday.
