Inspirational burns survivor, Turia Pitt, has taken to social media with a positively adorable new photo of her growing baby bump.

The tri-athlete is currently embarking on an “epic safari” babymoon through Namibia with partner Michael Hoskin.

In between trekking through the expansive deserts and hanging out with actual lions, it seems the couple stopped by a local village to spend time with the community.

Sharing a touching photo beside a fellow expectant mother, the 29-year-old wrote: “Pregnant bellies… some things cross all cultural boundaries!

“Whenever I meet new people, the first thing I do is find something in common with them. This remote Himba tribe was easy once I lifted up my shirt.”

Turia is not only sharing updates of her adventures through Africa, but also that of her first pregnancy.

Last week, she gave the world the very first look at her burgeoning belly, one month on from announcing the exciting news on 60 Minutes.

“Can I just say I’m pregnant? We’re having a baby,” Turia beamed to a delighted Allison Langdon.

“We’re stoked we couldn’t be happier,” Michael said. “Turia told me she’s the happiest she’s ever been.”

Turia proudly showed off her baby bump for the first time last week.

Turia was just 24 when she was caught in a grassfire in a remote section of The Kimberleys during a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon six years ago.

She fought an incredible battle just to survive, suffering burns to 64 per cent of her body, causing her to lose several fingers and spend a gruelling five months in hospital.

Despite all of this, Turia didn’t suffer any internal injuries and it’s believed she will have a normal pregnancy.

“One of the first questions I asked [after the fire] was if I would still be able to have children,” Turia told The Weekly.

There’s nothing this couple can’t handle.

The 29-year-old, who is now into the second trimester of her pregnancy, says her term is going smoothly with fiancé Michael by her side.

“In many ways, that was one of the main things that helped me keep going during the recovery and helped me find the will to keep going.

“Having Michael there beside me was important but so was the thought we could have children. That thought gave me hope that one day Michael and I would have a family.”

We can’t wait to see your family grow, Turia!
