Putting the Meghan effect to its very best use.

When Duchess Meghan steps out in, well, anything, the world scrambles to know every single outfit detail.

Aptly dubbed the Meghan Markle effect, the scenario is simple: She steps out in a clothing item, the world jumps on the website of whichever designer created the item, world often crashes said brand’s website due to uncontrollable traffic spike, and then, like clockwork, the item sells out.

And while the mania might be considered a little, well, material when you think about the amount of money that’s spent to recreate one woman’s look, it seems Meghan has spotted a golden opportunity within it.

And she’s about to put it to very good use.

There’s absolutely no denying Meghan’s eye for fashion, just taking a look at her incredible array of outfits will do that, but recently we’ve seen just how much the new royal mum is paving her way and making a name for herself in the competitive industry.

Indeed in July, it was announced the Duchess had guest-edited the September issue of British Vogue, an historic first for the iconic publication’s biggest issue of the year.

What’s more, Meghan has chosen to do things a little differently with her role as editor.

Unlike many royals before her, Meghan chose not to appear on the cover of the magazine, instead picking 15 different women who she hand-picked as “changemakers” and “trailblazers” in today’s modern society.

And that’s not the only exciting thing she’s used the gig as editor to do.

In another exciting revelation, Meghan has announced she will be collaborating with another fashion giant to spread a positive message, and suffice to say we’re here for it.

Meghan is launching a capsule collection, and we’re pretty sure it’s going to sell out quickly!

Yep, the Duchess has officially announced she will be partnering with British brand Marks & Spencer to launch a capsule collection of work wear.

The collaboration will benefit Smart Works, which is a charity Meghan works closely with as a royal to help unemployed and vulnerable women get back into the workforce.

Meghan has also teamed up with John Lewis and Jigsaw, both of which are known for their corporate-wear styles, as well as her friend and fashion designer Misha Nonoo.

Royal correspondent Omid Scobie reported the collection would be launching later this year, and will be sold in a ‘one-for-one’ scenario, so for any item purchased, another is donated.

Meghan explained the initiative in Vogue: “Not only does this allow us to be part of each other’s story, it reminds us we are in it together.”

Meghan’s work wear collection is in support of charity Smart Works.

The Duchess is an official patron of Smart Works, which she was seen visiting in January while she was still pregnant with baby Archie.

Meeting with staff and women who had benefited from the charity, Meghan helped them find outfits before they did a run through on job interviews.

A coach from the organisation at the time told Hello! at the time: “She has done so much research. That’s what I’m so impressed by. It’s not some honorary thing, she really cares.”

This new clothing collaboration is very well suited to Meghan, who is already a known fan of Marks & Spencer, having worn some of their items during public engagements.

In November 2018, the Duchess stepped out for an evening event at the Royal Albert Hall wearing a beautiful black capped sleeve Marks & Spencer dress.

Fans were thrilled to discover the dress cost a mere $AUD94.00 at the time.

Suffice to say it sold out quick-smart, but we can’t say we were surprised given how affordable the dress was.

Here’s hoping Meghan’s exciting new capsule collection is just as chic – we’re quite confident it will be.
